As you all know the exotic handcannon Thorn has undergone a major buff.
It seems like a lot more people are using it these days, which makes me wonder has it maybe been buffed a little too much?
In skilled hands everything seems overpowerd I do realize that.
Let's discuss that buff.
Was it too much, too little or exactly as it should be?

I preferred The Devil You Know and Timur's Lash before this update. I had Thorn sitting around for a bit and used it occasionally for variety. Honestly I thought all it needed was a small magazine extension, something else in place of the Final Round perk because of how frequently I reload. I was expecting 7 shots to a clip, but this is an amazing adjustment. Thorn is definitely worth the bounty it took now.

Edited by iMurklins: 12/6/2014 11:35:35 AMThorn was quite powerful before the buff, but the long reload and short ammo made it off putting to some that you didn't see it too often. All that's changed is 3 more shots and a slight increase to reload speed, now more people are using it and are crying OP, but this buff was needed for thorn to be even CALLED an exotic, and for it to stand among the other exotic hand cannons, and what people don't seem to know is, hand canons are powerful to begin with, but have longer reloads, slower fire rate and less ammo capacity compared to other primary's. Edit: Oh yeah, don't forget the exotic bounty you need to do to get it, which was another reason for many people not having it, being regarded as the hardest exotic bounty with what seemed like a unworthy reward at the end, but the story associated with it was great.

I used it before the patch and it was fine.. Now it became like Justin bieber in crucible. Sad times guys.. Sad times.

I wouldn't call it a "major" buff but to each their own. It's more of a buff to make it viable in PvE more than anything, it's the same in PvP if not actually worse since you have 3 more rounds to shoot before you get the perk for the higher damaged last round.

In PvP it really isn't much better than it was before.
