I turned my old phone on and stumbled upon that picture from 2 years ago and I was maybe 2 months into weightlifting, then I took a break over summer and got heavily into it at the start of senior year at the age of 17.
I wasn't getting very much attention from woman, common for many younger lifters, and was teased for my moobs by this kid Will in my class.
Then it all started. With some sixpackshortcuts ( lol ) videos and my dad's old adjustable weights. I was training every night before bed, even on days off I did light work. Half way through my senior year, Will came up to me. He felt felt my chest with his hand without permission, gave a nod, and strolled off (weird, I know). One of the best feelings I've ever had. Afterwards I was obsessed with it, getting my first gym membership for a new local gym and was there everyday.
It was an unhealthy obsession. I wasn't getting as big as I wanted to fast enough and, because of being misinformed, ate a surplus of 'bro food.' Plain chicken, rice, veggies and plain oatmeal until I could puke, literally. I contemplated the idea of using steroids hardly and even had a site based in Mexico (like many others) that had a doctor who wrote prescriptions bookmarked.
That all blew over after opening up to my parents, thankfully.
I've gathered a good amount of knowledge over time and experimented with multiple different programs/styles of training and the same goes for my diet.
Now I'm here. I'm more mature about it, get more attention from the ladies, and have a good amount of confidence. Thank you for reading my self centered post.
