FYI about the US Court System

With the two recent verdicts of innocent for the cops in Ferguson and New York, while I realize this angers people, there is a lot of uninformed hooplah *throws brick* The grand jury's job is not to prove innocence or guilt. It is to use the case, statements, testimonies, and any other form of lawful testament to either decision that is brought forth to them during the precession of the trial to decide innocence or guilt. A verdict is reached through the trial, not the prior actions or protests. Whether or not this is the morally right way of doing things, a jury of peers decided the verdict because of how the case had been presented to them in the court of law. And, while what I have previously said is factual, this is my humble opinion: the US court system is not broken because it produces an ugly verdict from the case provided to them inside the court of law. It would be broken if the guilty verdict was reached to silence the protests. Just my two cents since the US is practically falling apart like a teenage girl who just got asked out by their crush right now, and I literally just can't even.
