Would you buy it?
I personally would love to see a new game come out on next gen that takes place in WW2! Every game is going towards the futuristic space age advanced laser beam pew pew pew, which is fine, BUT... I miss having a game like this that is a gritty, storm the beaches, and kill some -godwinslaw!- ass holes with your m1! Anyone else feel the same way?
EDIT: Here was an idea I had and posted to someones response... This seems to be a common theme in the posts I'm reading.
We've had games where we could play at the soviets, but I can't think of a game where we were actually the Germans or Japanese etc... Maybe a story where you play as a character from the Americans, British, and other Allies armies. THEN play as a character from the Germans, Japanese, etc.. then have them all collide somehow and you decide ultimately what there fates are. That would make for some really tough calls and really bring you into the game on a personal level, making your gut wrenching decisions.

DISCLAIMER- I am all for WW2 themed games. It sounds great REALY but WW2 had been dragged out and milked as far as games go. Future games are in because old style war games have been over used and people want hope of going to space and looking at a bright or post apocalyptic world. Noe some games should have WW2 setting as AC because WE all want to see that. But that's REALY just it.

I don't know about playing as the -godwinslaw!-... I mean, besides the whole "Holocaust" thing and the Japanese bombing us, I think that would be quite controversial

I love WW2 games, it'd be cool to see it done the way the old COD games did it too, seeing different countries perspectives. WW2 is such a great resource for this because literally all of the worlds prominent armies were involved.
-
I'd buy it definitely. Cod should go back to its roots. Wouldn't wanna shoot the good guys though.
-
They need a new Brothers in Arms game. Best WW2 series out there.
-
Wolfenstien TNO, not if your looking for historical accuracy and is set just after WW2. But still an excellent game.
-
I would love it. World War II was the single most epic war the world has ever seen. And with World War I being too simple as far as fighting tactics, a solid WWII game would be great! CoD WaW had the right idea, just needed tweaking.
-
It'd be cool if it was done right and it was original. The problem is there used to be so many WW2 games that having an original idea for that time period is very difficult.
-
I want another WWII game, but I think the Allies side has been done too much. I would like to see a WWII game played through the perspective of an Axis soldier. Because you can only do something so much before it gets old. And I'm kinda tired of seeing our patriotic Americans and level headed British. I really want to see the war through the eyes of a German or Italian. Maybe even better, a game based off of WWI.
-
Yes. I feel the sane way.
-
I'd like to see a particularly long game featuring both World Wars, following one man who fights in both.
-
I have been wanting a new one for a while now. The market was flooded with them years ago, but now it's modern and futuristic warfare and that's getting kind of boring to me. I really like Progo and Pahat's idea; that might be the fresh take a new WWII game would need.
-
I want to be able to play as the bad guy. Maybe even a telltale style game about a 18 year old German recruit, there's a lot of amazing, sad history there, and it was only 70 years ago.
-
I want WWII games from German perspective.
-
bumping to get through all the VoG bull shit

Absolutely! I get that a while back the market was over saturated with WW2 games, but I think they can/should make a come back. In my opinion modern military shooters are kind of boring settings. I know we sort of "romanticize" WW2 and that makes the setting more interesting; but I find it cool because it's a setting/time period we're not from. The guns are, mostly, interesting and unique as well. CoD4 was a breath of fresh air in a genre that was typically dominated by WW2, but for the preceding years it seemed as if a lot of military shooters followed suit.

YES MAN! I've been waiting for a next-gen WaW type of game to release!
