Only Exotics are upgradable? Why?
I'm interested in the specifics of leaving the current Raid gear out of the equation.
Exotics should not be the only weapons/armor that should be able to be upgraded. Raid gear needs to be included in that.
I've spent quite a bit of time in the VoG, I like the way the VoG Raid armor looks, and I love my Vision of Confluence and Praedyth's Revenge. I worked hard and ground out hours upon hours to not only get them, but to upgrade them as well.
Now I'm told that after only three months, they're going to be effectively obsolete?
Bungie, do you know how much of your glitchy crap I had to put up with in the Vault of Glass to get that Facade of the Hezen Lords? Not to mention the countless wipes and hours to complete the armor set (which still isn't complete as I cannot get the Treads of the Hezen Lords...)?
Raid gear needs to be allowed to upgrade as well.

3 Replies1. We will be getting a new seleciton of exotic and legendary gear with higher ratings to work towards. 2. Vault of Glass raid armor was spec'd specifically to assist you in fighting the Vex....we're going to be fighting the Hive. 3. There will be new raid weapons and armor spec'd to assist us in fighting the Hive. 4. This is how MMOs and RPGs work. If you don't like the gear-grind, this game----these games----are not for you.

I know what u mean but that's just how it is. The raid gear won't be too helpful on the new raid anyway since the gear is designed specifically for the vault of glass and the vex, but that doesn't mean u shouldn't keep trying to get the rest of the gear in VOG. When u switch between raids you'll want that raid specific gear so the VOG gear isn't really obsolete.

And don't reset our exotics to zero upgrades when we wait for the weekend that Xur has the upgraded version of the exotic we already have and purchase it for 7000 glimmer+strange coins for the second time. Run-on sentence to match the Run-on bullshit going on at Bungie HQ. Quit recycling content and do your -blam!-ing job. We as a community are paying a shitload of money to repeat the same upgrades on our guns??? Pshhhh get real Bunghole.

Some people are speculating that they will include a new set of raid gear for the vault of glass upon the launch of the DLC, but that would probably mean having to suffer the RNG to get this new gear. It would seem rather than learn from the examples of previous games with raids, (MMOs such as WoW and Everquest) they wanted to make the same blunders for themselves. I guess I'll have to squeeze what enjoyment I can out of my gear now before it becomes invalidated next week.
