I find it funny and sad that majority of the Destiny community has not ever beat the Templar normally. Of course, why would you when you can knock him over the ledge, but that should be used as a convenient exploit, not your only possibility of killing him in general. I've obtained most of what I desire from the VoG, and I'm glad because now it is pretty much impossible to run the raid in a timely manner.
Most players haven't learned to kill him legitimately and now veterans are left with teams full of inexperienced players. I'm not saying killing the Templar is easy, but it does take critical thinking skills that cheesing didn't require. Weak players have grown comfortable with raiding without effort and are used to cheesing just about every living thing in the vault. How will the weak fare in The Dark Below? I guess we'll see, granted that people don't find a cheese method in the first 24 hours. (which we all know they will.) To anyone reading this that is used to cheesing, I encourage you to learn the legitimate strategies for the sake of the rest of your team. For anyone who can already kill him legit and are held back by their team, I feel sorry for you and I feel your pain. As for Bungie, well, don't leave holes in your end game content that will allow for exploits, and then patch the exploit after its been up long enough for the whole community to learn it and become too comfortable with it. Sorry for the whining, but this is coming from a guy who just spent 6 hours trying to kill the Templar because my team is used to the latter method.

Good post. I agree with you completely. When islands got patched I started having the thought of doing it legit cross my mind. Eventually it will all get fixed so we should learn to do it right. I feel a lot of gear hasn't been earned and that we would probably respect what we got a lot more if we did it legit.
