Most of you all know I play a lot of this game with my son. He's been after me to go after Atheon for months. During that time I told him that he needed to be 28 before I let him go in so that he could do the work rather than be carried. He got his toon to 28 a week ago and has been after me non-stop, so I told him we would set something up for this coming weekend since he would be with me both days... Get home from work last night and he wants to jump on right away...before homework. Being the good Destiny dad I am I had to let him go in for a bit. I was taking care of some chores, logged in for a few bounties, and I hear him on his console just tearin' up something in the game. Went in to check on him and he had found one of his PSG buddies and they got on a DoD fireteam taking on the Vault! I watched him for a little bit as they tried to open the Vault, fixed him some dinner and when I brought dinner in he gave me that not enough hands look...knowing dinner was going to be the loser in the battle of the hands I took his controller for a few minutes so he could wolf down dinner, about that time the Vault pops open so dinner is forgotten in the rush for the mad loot. About an hour later I yell in to him that he's got another few minutes and then time for homework and the rest of our nighttime routine, his response..."Dad, we're at Atheon." Now here's a Destiny Dad conundrum...let him play or be responsible and have him quit to do homework. Most of you who know me already know my response...Go get him Son! And less than 30 minutes later he comes dancing in to the living room talking trash about dropping the big bad guy. I don't even remember what he got, void MG and shards that got him to 29 I think, but I don't think he cared one bit, he was out of this world happy!
