Thorn is now in line with Hawkmoon and TLW. I'd say equal to Hawkmoon and a little better than TLW.
But, earning the Thorn is more difficult than paying Xur 23 coins for TLW so it makes sense to be slightly better.
As far as being equal to Hawkmoon...if you got Hawkmoon, it's pretty much winning the RNG lottery. You may not have 'earned' it but you got lucky enough to get it. Thus, equal in performance.

Dude hawkmoon is way better than the Thorn . The thorn can now be consider a good weapon. But not equal to hawkmoon
