So after the update came out I immediately took off to clash to test out both weapons THORN: faster reload, nine bullets, faster handling, 2 shots plus Mark Of D to kill. VEX MYTHO: Returned to old glory, It singes people like bee-outch, lower mag size not a big deal!. So lets discuss, are these two the best now or is there still something better?.
EDIT: THANK YOU GUYS
EDIT: So many responses thanks XD

To those saying that thorn is op. U also have to consider what it takes to get it. It doesn't drop it actually has a bounty which is a mega pain to complete. So given the effort I say it is a fair trade

You're forgetting about the bad juju, and the infinite bubbles it creates. Which would you prefer, a permanent weapon damage but or infinite shields? You can't go wrong as long as you stick with me.
-
Vex should be strong. Also thorn isn't amazing but it's now a viable hand cannon
-
Personally I think these 2 weapons are the most difficult exotics to obtain so I'm fine with them being strong. Have yet to test the thorn post patch but I'm looking forward to it.
-
Vex still shit. thorn is acting like an exotic now.
-
Hey what happened to the thorn nerf because it stills nerfed in pve
-
Thorn op lol..... people forget about the degree of difficulty for this bounty. Secondly, the gun has not changed much. Still two head shots will kill you, only difference is now is that you can engage multiple targets and give them a run for their money. The gun was always good, just needed to know how to fight with it.

Pocket infinity
-
The Last Word.. "Yours... Not mine" Thorn: "Are you sure about that?"
-
But what about Khostov I was just dropping people that had thorn with it

MY BODY IS READY

Shut up Meg Stop complaining and learn to play

And pocket infinity!

Edited by MortalGod: 12/2/2014 10:23:59 AMthey ought to be strong!!! Thorn is the hardest exotic to earn...it requires both PvP and PvE skills to get, so yeah it MUST be and feel powerful. Same thing applies for the Vex...you get it only from the hardest boss of the game so far. They did good to buff those two...and I hope whining kids at the crucible wont change these.
-
Should I use my maxed thorn in the raid or my epilogue that is still missing the last 3 damage upgrades.
-
thorn is no where close to hawkmoon sorry
-
Good, they should be. Hardest 2 weapons to get in the game.
-
The damage increase only affects PvE...
-
Hawkmoon is better
-
Broke out thorn yesterday its much better but the re-load time is still an issue for me to recommend it over Fatebringer. If I'm not in the raid and can wear my Soujourn Grips for the buff to hand cannon reload speed along with Chain of Woe then Thorn rocks but when I'm raiding I have to drop my reload speed buff to put on my level 30 armour set. Its much improved but i wouldn't call it a massive upgrade since it can't be used to do the raid (It can but its not the best option)
-
THORN!!!!! BLAM BLAM=dead!!
-
I'm just excited to try out my bad juju, red death and hard light now that they finally got buffed
-
Does the Vex actually do more dmg now? Should it be normalized in crucible hence no effect at all?
-
Edited by Unholy Trinity Ghoul: 12/2/2014 1:59:18 PMYea, dude! Now the Thorn tango's with Last Word for best hand cannon!!! Sorry to put a... *thorn* in you Hawkmoon users sides, but Thorn stepped it up! And it IS the new bad-ass, gunslinger weapon! And i freakin LOVE it!
-
I had great games using the vex and hardlight, however it counts how it's used, suros don't have a chance vs a hardlight and vex, I like the update
-
Thorn was a 2 hit weapon before bungie screwed it up
