It should be possible to use ammo synthesis by holding down special buttons. Like if i have heavy equipped, I can hold y and b at the same time to use the ammo synthesis... we need more shortcuts in this game!! The other suggestion is making a weapon setup for exotics. Like if i use gjallarhorn and want to use icebreaker. I select icebreaker and it automatically switches to my Pre-chosen setup which would be voc, icebreaker, hezen (or whatever) ... JuSt Another shortcut to make the game better.... Or What do you think?
