[b]UPDATE: Now that the game has been [url=http://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Update---12012014/en/News/News?aid=12433]updated[/url], a lot of these ideas may need to be reworked.[/b]
After playing Destiny for a while, I've realized this game lacks some pretty basic features. Some of these problems aren't as bad as the others, but I'm suggesting them to improve Destiny overall. I'm trying to make this list a culmination of everybody's ideas to improve the game. [b]Please share your thoughts[/b] on these suggestions and tell me what should be added to/removed from it.
Edit: I've highlighted changes in [b]bold[/b].
- [b]Ability to edit polls (there's a blatant typo at the top).[/b]
- [b]Continued work on connection stability (many players are still experiencing connection issues).[/b]
- Ability to see a map of whatever planet you're on.
- Ability to split stacks of items in the inventory.
- Shaders/Emblems/Class Armors/Cosmetics should be accessible account-wide and not take up inventory space.
(Instead of counting as items, they should be considered unlockables that are managed separately.)
- [b]Ability to reforge legendary weapons (raid weapons not included).[/b]
- Ability to pay to customize character appearance.
(Race/gender/hair/etc.)
- Weapon inventory should be out of a total 27, not out of 9 for each slot.
(There are four types of primary weapons, three types of special weapons, and two types of heavy weapons. You'll probably end up carrying more primaries than heavies.)
- A button to automatically dismantle green items upon pickup.
- Ability to pay to increase your vault storage space.
- Exotic primaries should have elemental damage.
(Exotic primaries can be outclassed by raid primaries.)
- Removal of all currency caps.
(Glimmer can already be stored in Axiomatic Beads, House Banners, Network Keys, and Silken Codex.)
- Ability to skip cutscenes.
- Ability to vote on maps for the crucible.
- [b]Ability to see what map you're traveling to for crucible.
(For people who are joining in the middle of a session. Makes it easy to know what weapons to switch to.)[/b]
- [b]Ability to do custom/private matches in crucible (without gaining any rewards).[/b]
- Ability to speak to other players in the tower.
- Ability to speak to nearby players whilst on any planet.
- Numerical statistics to understand what +2 agility means and the difference between low rate of fire and high rate of fire.
(Most websites already provide this.)
- [b]Optional[/b] matchmaking for Nightfall, VoG, weeklies.
(Dailies not included because they can be done solo.)
- [b]If they choose to not allow matchmaking for VoG, then they should create an in-game group finder system.[/b]
- [b]Removal of the various bugs that plague VoG (i.e. broken teleporters, minotaurs regaining health).[/b]
In addition, I have some more [b]radical ideas[/b] that could help improve the game overall.
- Ability to equip multiple exotic weapons OR buff current exotics.
(My reasoning behind this is that many of my exotic weapons barely compare to my legendaries. As far as I can tell, the exotics are designed to be good at one thing and not much else. To my knowledge, the only weapons that are more OP than current legendaries are Ice Breaker, Suros, Gjallarhorn and Mythoclast. Even Bungie has said, "Exotic Weapons are designed to look, feel and sound overpowered, but to not actually break the game." Basically, Bungie doesn't want them to outclass legendaries. If that's what they want, then they shouldn't try to balance them with legendaries in mind and make them a little OP, thus making the decision to use a particular exotic more rewarding.)
- Ability to equip multiple exotic armors.

- [b]OR ability to earn extra exotic slots by completing hard raids.[/b]
- Dismantling green items gives one upgrade material.
- Dismantling blue items gives two upgrade materials.
(Materials received should be from the planet you acquired the item on.)
- OR white engrams should still drop for level 20+ but instead give one upgrade material for whatever planet you're on.
- Ability to purchase ascendant energy with weapon parts. (Cryptarch)
- Ability to purchase ascendant shards with armor parts. (Cryptarch)
- Ability to buy strange coins with glimmer. (Xur)
- Ability to buy motes with glimmer. (Xur)
- Decoding an engram of any quality has a chance to result in a higher tier engram.
- [b]Ridable dinosaurs (because who wouldn't like that?).[/b]
That's all I can think of so far. Please suggest anything that should be added to/removed from the list.
