If you have raid weapons and gear, nothing else is going to interest you. Primary's with void, solar or arc. I'm not gonna swap those out for any faction or exotic weapons. Boots with a heavy ammo increase, keeping it. Destiny doesn't give you many options and this bit seems like the least of the problems that Destiny suffers from.

Destiny does give you options, but you just choose not to use them. If you only play with your "best" or "preferred" weapons and armor you are just minimizing your experience. Try playing with weapon classes that you are not as comfortable with, or using play style that you do not prefer. Downgrade your armor so your light level is below your max so you can run a nightfall or raid at a disadvantage. Once you max out a weapon, don't use it unless you think you need the extra firepower. Run the raid without using any heavy weapons at all. Etc. Half of the stated repetitiveness is because you are playing the game the same way.

So I have to make the game harder on myself or I'm minimizing my experience? I'm now playing the game wrong. Wow, just wow.

The point is that the game will be repetitive if you keep doing the same thing every time. Yes, you are minimizing your experience if you exclude options that provide different gaming experiences. What's wrong with the game being harder? Destiny is a casual game with easy-medium difficulty.

Trust me, I know its easy. I have used all weapons in crucible and still do very well. It shouldn't be up to me to make it more exciting.
