Everybody knows it, that one level in a game or that one boss they repeated again and again, perhaps for hours because they would not admit defeat, they utterly refused to allow it to end.
What situation describes this scenario to you?
Currently I'm playing God of War on my vita and I'm one trophy from platinuming the game but I cannot for the life of me beat the Challenge of the Gods.
What of you? Share your aggravating gaming experiences.

Skyrim on max difficulty (legendary?) the whole game pretty much. Turns you down, and everything else up. Built a nord chick just to do it (magic resist) did the main and dlc's, was tough. Don't want to know how many times I died or had to reload because some low level critter killed an npc in towns I needed.

KotOR: Darth Bandon boss fight. While his fight was very easy, I first fought him at a low level and there was no way to defeat him. I brought all my worst characters to train them up. I saved my only save file right before his battle and I couldn't escape. I had to restart the entire game just because of that.

The final mission in Blinx: The Timesweeper (Xbox) was pretty brutal. You had to beat every boss in the game in a row before fighting the final boss. No rests, no healing, no reprieve. To this day, I have still not beat that goddamn game.

The final boss flagship of Faster Than Light. Spend 2 hours somehow managing to get lucky through the entire game and get tons of weapons and resources, get your ship all beefed up, and then promptly get murdered by the 3-stage boss with a 3rd-stage super weapon. I've gotten to the 3rd-stage once. On my most perfect run ever, I got it down to 2 hull points left. And then the bastard put an overshield up.

Heart of the Reich in World at War is a pretty brutal mission.

Battle toads. I beat the speeder lvl only a handful of times, but the levels after were just as hard! Brutal!

Last level of Lego Racers 2. I probably spent an hour repeating that race over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Edited by SNX007: 11/28/2014 12:26:44 PMOh, the GoW challenge(s). It's a nice one. I struggled with it for a while, gave up, did it again a year later and got in in a few tries (BING, Platinum). My hardest would be Zelda, either the oracle of time or ages (GB game)...some kind of big ass Dragon ending boss which you need to jump on his claws...I still scold in my sleep sometimes.

Recently, the Gravemind level from Halo 2 on Legendary, but only because it starts you with a bloody needler and around 12 enemies.

You kids have it easy. Back in my day... Battletoads. Dat hover bike level tho. Ninja Gaiden. There was this one jump, where a bird would swoop down as you jumped, forcing you back. This would respawn the bad guy on the other platform. Killing him again would just give the bird time to respawn. Contra. Even though I did beat it without the Konami Code, there's that one jump in the factory. The one where flame jets come out of pipes in proximity, and the one really long jet that comes down across a huge gap as you jump. These things tormented my childhood.

Planet Snivelak in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando The game is pretty much a breeze up until this planet, and then the difficulty spike just goes through the roof astronomically. My first playthrough, I didn't know what I was expecting and needless to say, I got my ass #rekt. Spent a few days trying to pass this level. The boss is easy in this level but it takes so god damn long to kill him.

I've got SL 1 playthrough on Dark Souls 1... stuck at Four Kings, so I'm giving up for a bit.

Every boss fight in Kingdom hearts dream drop distance 3DS... Let me explain Each boss has a specific way to be defeated. It might take you a while to figure it out but when you do, you can easily kill a boss. That's what I want to say, in reality, if you are still figuring out how to defeat the bosses they will keep hitting you with everything and JUST WHEN YOUR ABOUT TO KILL THE BOSS IN A BLITZ OF PURE LUCK. AFTER HOURS OF TRYING AND DYING YOU SEE SOMETHING THAT BURNS INTO THE VERY DEPTHS OF YOUR SKULL. HORRIFYING YOU TO YOUR VERY BONE. A simple 30 second clock. Counting down. You frantically try to attack the now running away or shielded boss, the boss now purposely evading you. "HE HAS 1 HP YOU CAN DO THIS" you think. Then the clock hits 0. And when it does, the game instantly kills your character and swaps him to the second character riku.... And if you swap back, you will have to fight that boss all over again. And it's a never ending cycle of frustration and agony. All so you can do it again and again. Until you will learn the meaning of handheld trial and error... If you couldn't tell I just tried to play again....that Dino boss is pissing me off now...
