The main argument I see (that's completely valid) is that people talk about precursors and the fact that they are part of existence or something like that, and that they'd destroy conventional Star Wars characters and forces. However with the old EU, Star Wars had it's own versions of the precursors (i.e. Extradimensional beings/forces) like the Celestials, Waru, the sharu, Gree, etc. (I could go on and on lol) that would be able to neutralize or cancel out the precursors. Then it comes down to the other forces and beings in the universe's. Star Wars has just so many powerful aliens and technology/doomsday devices that could beat the halo rings and humans/covenant. The deathstar, sun crusher, centerpoint station, galaxy gun, etc. are all examples of technology that would be able to beat Halo It's also worthy of note that Star Wars has a big advantage in simply time. The universe is much older and as a result has more development in terms of species, forces, and weapons that would beat halo. Given enough time, I think Halo could be expanded and developed into a universe that could go toe to toe if not beat Star Wars.
also note worthy is the fact that Sith alchemy and magic could wrap and destroy the fabric of reality (thought bomb anyone?) that may be able to severely hurt the precursors as well
Of course this is all opinion, but as a huge fan of both universe' and their expanded content, I think my conclusion is less biased than others
