Ascendant Shards
I have done a ton of Public Events since the update, have gotten only one ascendant shard out of them. I need them BIG TIME but public events seem to not be working! Is there any other way that I can get them, I know about them being in some rare engrams but I haven't gotten any from them either.

2 RepliesEdited by Hawk, The Maidenless: 11/22/2014 7:14:40 PMHere are some tips on how to get ascendent mats quickly: 1) Do the daily on level 28 on all your characters. You will always get 2 shards, or energy from it. Do that on 3 characters and you could be 6 shards richer 2) Burn your vanguard and crucible marks. I got 21 shards from burning 150 vanguard and 200 crucible marks (buy chests, boots, or gloves and dismantle them. You will get 2-3 shards each time) 3) Do the nightfall. You can get anywhere from 5-12 shards (plus some legendary and exotic gear!) 4) Do public events. Though rare, you can get shards or energy from it, and when you finish your first one for the day you can get a shard or energy 5) Do the raid. Even if its just cheesing the oracles and pushing the templar. You can get 12 shards from those 2 if your lucky (Note: this is on hardmode if you didn't do normal already. You could get 3 shards as a drop from normal and 3 from hard, thats 6 for the oracles and you can then get 6 more the same way with the templar) Hope this helped

1 ReplyIf you have unwanted, unneeded legendary armor you can get some by dismantling it. I did that last night to max out my current gear.

3 RepliesThe best way to get ascendant shards is the raid and nightfall. Doing the raid normally you get a lot of ascendant materials and the nightfall rewards sometimes give you between 8 and 12.

2 RepliesYeah man, dismantling purple gear generally gets you two shards. Now the best way to get those is to work on your reputation rankings.
