• Precursors can't actually die, and neither can the Flood. We're talking about beings that utilized solar system sized weaponry.

 • This. Yuuzhan Vong are just too overpowered. I tried debating this with Vien and he kept talking about the Precursor's neural physics, but he does not know anything about the Yuuzhan Vong. I have done research on both, Star Wars wins.
When the decision was first made to not follow the story of Han, Leia, Luke, and their children that was laid out in the novels (and hailed as some of the better novels in the EU), many saw the move as essentially wiping the slate clean. The slight concession was made at the time to maintain the existence of the Expanded Universe under the banner of Star Wars ‘Legends,’ with writer Simon Kinberg (providing story direction for the franchise as a whole) promising that those stories could still be used as “inspiration” for canon projects.
>>> Funny thing is now that Episode VII is going to be released, the Yuuzhan Vong, along with every other part of the Extended Universe, is no longer considered canon. Hopefully they use it for "inspiration" for the new movies and TV shows. It's really lame, I liked the Extended Universe.
