Dismantling Exotics has a chance to drop a Decryption Device (consumable), which can then be used to "cleanse" the Dark Engram into a Legendary or Exotic Engram. The chance increases depending on the number of upgrades.

YOU MONSTER!! 3 hard mode raids in a row.... and no armor drops.... Oh but I found a way. I discovered a way to get past your claws. You taught that you would make sure I never reach lvl 30... You are mistaken. Thanks to Lord Saladin, I have armor with enough light to reach lvl 30. And they actually look like super soldier armor. Not like your pirate boots.

Thanks! Thought it would be a good idea, especially for those who get multiple Exotics (or have maxed them out for all 3 characters). And of course, since there is no trading in Destiny.
