I was told to put this here too.

Hi, My name is Garet, Im a college student with about 5 years of animation experience, with a love of destiny and I Just want to share my Creation with you.....THE DREADED BLACK ENGRAM.
Took around 5 hours to make the base layer of it. This was Made on Cinema 4D.
Story: Its a Random Engram That can Have any rarity in it. From white to exotic. Black engrams have a very low drop rate like as low as legendary. READ THE EDIT
Heres What It looks like if main link doesn't work, just incase: http://imgur.com/wbPPjbx
HUGE EDIT: Story update.***~~~THANK YOU TITANITE THORIAN~~~*** The Black engram drops random pieces of a set of 5 exotic guns. You have to earn 3-4 pieces of a gun to get it.
So you would need multiple Black engrams. You killed a Praetorian on Venus, he dropped the engram you took it and decoded it, the clue turned out to be a map. Take the map to Cayde (Kinds of fits him because he is a hunter and you are pretty much hunting for something, besides, he loves maps), and he will make some sense out of it. After doing so, cayde will provide you the location the map was pointing to (which is Venus, since the engram dropped on venus, it would be great to make the clue location specific).
The map turns out to be a guide to Super Good Advice. The location cayde found on the map is the Vault of Glass. Venture into the vault, once inside, your next objective will be made available. According to the grimoir, Super Good Advice was crafted by a teammate of Kabr. And Kabr's team ventured into the Vault, so it would be a relevant place to find Super Good Advice. Complete the objective (Which is to collect a mind frame from a Gorgon) Once done the mind frame is collected, a waypoint will appear, follow it, and it will lead you to A) the chests that are in the maze B) to a random area between Gorgon's maze and Atheon's throne room.Follow the waypoint and once you arrive, a chest will be there, open it and A piece of the Super Good Advice is yours. doing this 3 times makes the journey worth it. 3 different quests spanning great challenges would make an exotic something truly amazing to attain. Just with new exotics.
Please tell me what you think? :)
Style critics are welcome as well.
I love criticism.
If You have any other Ideas for me to make Id love to here them too.
I write stories from time to time so Please give me your wonderful input, Thank you.

Everyone knows the black ones run faster than the white ones
-
It all went well until u go to the cryptarch! Cos he'll just give you two blue engrams like he's done to me for the past 28 cryptarch lvl ups!! Good idea tho, needs a bit of tweaking - perhaps an ultra rare weapon that has different perks? As long as everyone is not running round with it a week later, cos then it's not rare! As xur is giving every one the same weapons each week, why can't BUNGIE make xur player specific?? So each player get a random weapon? Perhaps depending on luck or stats? Just an idea?

-
Why does it need to be any rarity? Legendaries already do that -_-
-
Tl:dr but that title is so racist.
-
Cool idea but wayyy too much work for a crap gun like super good advice, even though the stories tie together.
-
-
This looks -blam!-ing amazing keep up the work man. :3
-
The updated idea is much better. In terms of item gain. The look is awesome as well. And I like the idea of a new rarity maybe epic? Just as an example. That were actually extremely hard to get.

Looks More Orange-Red

I think questing for your exotics is a great idea. But then again, great ideas are bad to bungie. Bad bungie, bad bad dog.
-
As rare as a legendary but could produce a white? Imagine the shit storm that would cause. You'd fit right in with the dev team.
-
If it's so hard to find make it worth it...not like we are getting purple drops that often anymore...so black being as hard our harder should be beneficial for the find...great idea but tweak the reward benefit
-
WoW(nice showcase by the way)i think this is actually a great idea but I also think that instead of glowing it should radiate darkness. (Its gotta like cool!)
-
The Cryptard upon deciphering the Black Engram falls over while Face planting the pavement and has a stroke...
-
Could it hold the weapons of the travelers dark past (halo weapons from 1 to reach)
-
This is really RPG gaming reduced to its lowest common denominator - the rng with extra rarity and randomness.
-
But what's the point of an extremely rare engram drop that could turn into a white?
-
Bungie hire the dude.
-
I think it would be cool if it was an even less frequent drop, but would have a fifty-fifty chance of an exotic, or something that could damage yo, ( like reduced experience for the next hundred enemies, for example). It would fit with the color association in video games. You could also have a trade system with it for a couple of legendaries of a few rares, for people who wouldn't want to test their luck.
-
Holy %\££ you are amazing at that
-
Should be a blue rate drop and give random material (like 20), motes(like3), strange coins(like3) or ascendant material(like2). With material give higher and lower possibility for the rest. That would be cool.
-
Funny enough I had a green engram spawn in with out its color palette and it was indeed a black engram! So I GOT THE FIRST BLACK ENGRAM called it.
-
Imagine if the black engram gave you a common item... RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGEEEEE QUIIIIIT!
-
That looks more red/orange though. No more rng please; it's become an annoying trend.
