EDIT 6: BUMP FOR BUNGIE!!!!! WHOA WHAT A BUMPY ROAD!!
Edit 7: Story update.***~~~THANK YOU TITANITE THORIAN~~~*** The Black engram drops a clue to a certain exotic item.. Complete a set of specific objectives.
Example: THIS IS A CONCEPT.
> You killed a Praetorian on Venus and he dropped the black engram. Return the tower and once you are there take the engram to the cryptarch and he will give you a clue. This time, you got some sort of map with strange symbols, Cayde-6 can make sense out of this strange map. Once the map is given to Cayde-6, he will provide you with the location the map was pin-pointing to. Because the engram dropped on Venus, the location Cayde-6 found on the map will be on Venus, due to clues from the black engrams being location specific. Also, Cayde-6 deciphered what the symbols are, turns out this map is a guide to a location of a piece of the Super Good Advice exotic Machine Gun.
The location on Venus that cayde found on the map is the Vault of Glass. You must venture into the Vault, once done, Cayde-6 will contact you, notifying you that he deciphered the remaining set of symbols and provide you with instructions that will you to a piece of Super Good Advice hidden within the vault. The objectives this time around is to get a Memory Frame from a Gorgon in order to reveal the location of the exotic weapon piece. After getting the Memory Frame from the Gorgon, a waypoint will appear. It will lead you to the either of the following places:
A) The 4th and 5th chests found in the maze.
B) Random place between Gorgon's Maze and Atheon's Throne room where a chest containing the exotic piece and spirit bloom is located.
Once you find the chest, open it and a piece of Super Good Advice will be yours. Collect 3 more to finish the gun. Sometimes you will get more than one piece, even all of the pieces, and in a very rare chance, the exotic weapon or armor. So you will be needing a couple of Black Engrams in order to collect all exotic pieces, but if extremely lucky, only one engram.
NOTE: Weapon pieces must be taken to the Gunsmith so he can re-assemble the weapon. Armor pieces must be taken to Eva Levante so she can also re-assemble the armor, but since the armors need the light of the traveler in order function, armors need to be taken to the Speaker after being re-assembled by Eva Levante in order for him to "charge and cleanse" the exotic armor.
Edit 8: The final weapon you get is a cursed exotic. You must purify it to unlock its full potential. The weapon is useable but it isn't its most powerful form till fully cleansed.
Edit 9: Wish I could get some bungie feedback.

I have to imagine there weren't many people with this kind of awesome enthusiasm working on Destiny in the first place. Give this guy a job!

Edited by SmokeShadow_27: 11/20/2014 5:33:08 PMEdit 7 just sounds like a more complicated exotic bounty though? Don't really see the purpose for that unless they were for new weapons, and even so, exotic bounties already exist, so I don't understand the point of that part of the post, seeing as we will have new exotic bounties as more content comes out anyways. And you shouldn't have to complete parts of exotic bounties while within the vault, since one person should never be holding up the raid team, that's annoying. Other than that strange story, the engram looks great, from a designing point of view. I just doubt they'll ever put it in the game. Why give the kids one more thing to cry about when it keeps turning into whites/greens? Don't we already have the chance for something worthless (shards) or something exotic from a legendary? Neat ideas, but I fail to see the point, and I question all the posts of "what a great idea" when nothing really new here is presented. I guess the only thing that sounds new is being able to get exotic armor from these quests instead of the guns we already get. Still an exotic bounty, just different rewards. With all that being said, OP, great design man! But not much point to add this into the game.

Black Engram... Err... No... Dark Engram... Yes !!! Pretty. It's. So. Pretty. PRETTY !!!
-
-
Looks great and I really dig the surface texture. One question, why are you calling it the black engram? Its clearly more of a burnt orange.
-
That's not black, but still cool
-
This is exotic bounties that drop as engrams instead of dropping at the bounty robot
-
A form is this is coming in the second DLC to do with Eris Morn who will be dealing with quests and treasure maps, etc for rare, legendary and exotic items.
-
And then xur sells it next week Good job on the a image :)
-
Still racist

Edited by Loot Cave Rave: 11/20/2014 1:42:38 PMThis is good. One thing I'd change perhaps is not putting in weapons that are already available. SOmeone touched on maybe having a future weapon early. They gave that guy recovering from brain surgery a future weapon to use before the DLC comes out to 'test' it, for them, so it is possible. Even if they set aside a few weapons that can only be found this way and won't drop from other sources. That would make them so much more coveted. aving weapons in there that already exist from random drops, prizes from strikes, sold by Xur etc, could take away from how much people treasure them. Hope that's a decent addition :D

Racist somehow
-
Bump my ideas below or add feedback plz. I want to know what players want. Besides being one, I need all perspectives.
-
First of all, BUMP! Second of all, this is the greatest thing to come out of these forums. I really hope bungee can implement this into the game somehow.
-
I dont get it.....
-
Loving this idea.. Instead of your "mentor" deciding when you are worthy enough to get an exotic bounty.
-
Awesome! But Maybe it should change around what exotic it gives
-
I stuck the super good advice in my vault. It's nothing special since the perk basically only gives you missing ammo shots. Which you shouldn't be missing anyways and thus you effectively miss out on a perk slot if you are a good aim..
-
Looks awesome, but it doesn't look black...
-
Its a cool story, but not for the Super good Advice. Should change the weapon.
-
Love it

Dark Engram (Black) An Engram lost to the darkness. Only the Light can cleanse it of its corruption. Decryption Device (Consumable) A tool constructed from high-quality weapon/armor components Dismantling Exotics has a chance to drop a Decryption Device (consumable), which can then be used to "cleanse" the Dark Engram into a Legendary or Exotic Engram. The chance increases depending on the number of upgrades.

Why does everyone say bump?
