Iron Banner 2.0: Levels still don't matter. Why?
What the -blam!- is this shit? That's me, a level 30 Defender being one shotted by a level 25 Hunter in Iron Banner. That same hunter would finish in 2nd place on a team full of 29s and 30s.

1) Do you need help doing math? What is 30 - 25. Is it 3?
2) Do you need help with the definition of "out of your league" and "boss"?
3) Please explain why Level 25's are able to one shot level 30s, with regular weapons (nonheavy) in IB. Would it have been so hard to use a damage dampening function that ceilings at (opponentMaxHealth-%10) for the sake of making light level ACTUALLY matter? Seriously?

1) Yes my shot did not connect and kill the guy. At no point did I claim I wanted people to die when I looked at them because they are a lower level than me. Please feel free to spend precious moments of your life to tell me I missed, as [i]I clearly had no idea.[/i]
2) If the light level damage dropoff curve is so pathetic in IB 2.0 that a decent shot from a non-heavy weapon is still a one-shot despite a huge level gap (>3), then your light level doesn't matter in practice. Only in theory. If it only matters in theory, this is IB 1.0[/b]
3) I typically do patrol mission bounties etc before I log out. I do not do these in my level 30 set because my level 30 set has way too much strength over disc/int thanks to rng. Is it [i]so hard to imagine [/i]that a guy can log off in a not level 30 set and still be level 30 when he wants to?

1 ReplyAttack doesn't matter again ive literally been killed constantly by people using blues and still killing me at the same rate of speed as a fully upgraded legendary. The lvl advantage is a joke and is close to nothing a lvl 20 can still kill a lvl 30 at the same speed. Defense means literally like nothing and surviving or dieing is almost always determined by the connection. Its just crucible with a new paint job.

4 RepliesEdited by Luke KB: 11/19/2014 2:54:09 PMIf his weapon does 300 attack... It does 300 attack no matter what. Your GEAR/WEAPONS count, your LEVEL is secondary... If you had it your way then 300 attack weapons would do less damage and then even the 30's would struggle to kill other 30's because the 300 attack is weakened so that a level 25 with a 300 attack weapon has a greater difficulty killing people with maxed armor. This is how your armor gets in the equation: right now with max armor you got one shot by a 300 attack weapon, but not a 250 attack weapon. If you had less armor you may have been one shotted by both the 300 and 250. Fear the gear, not the level. ---edit--- Not to mention he used a pulse rifle which has an incredibly high impact to begin with. Nice miss by the way... Skill is still greater than gear... The better player won in this duel...

3 RepliesHere's the thing... Lower levels who depended on grenades and melee one shots in crucible for kills are currently weeping in IB. Those who have learned to used their weapons effectively are having a much easier time. I ran into a level 20 Titan with my 29 hunter several times during a match and each time he tried to either shoulder charge me or grenade me. He might have actually killed me if he'd followed up with, ya know, a trigger pull on that hunk of metal he was carrying around. But he didn't and he died every time. Moral of the story: Level does matter. Also, I shot him in the face. It was extremely satisfying.

The new banner works....to bad u really soley on armor. Read te link u gave from deej....he clearly states armor helps, but it depends on weapons more so. Scrub!

I lol'd after watching that video. I can relate as I am awful at pvp...but you whiffed that shot LAMF and got wrecked immediately after. Not exactly supporting your argument.

Your shot was not even close to him and you took off his entire shield and a chunk of health. Instead of shooting 3 shoulder lengths to his right, you could have shot 2 shoulder lengths to his right and got the kill and stayed alive. How much of an advantage do you want? Do you think that he should have to hit you 3 or 4 times from close range with a fusion riffle for a kill?
