Iron Banner 2.0: Levels still don't matter. Why?
What the -blam!- is this shit? That's me, a level 30 Defender being one shotted by a level 25 Hunter in Iron Banner. That same hunter would finish in 2nd place on a team full of 29s and 30s.

3) Please explain why Level 25's are able to one shot level 30s, with regular weapons (nonheavy) in IB. Would it have been so hard to use a damage dampening function that ceilings at (opponentMaxHealth-%10) for the sake of making light level ACTUALLY matter? Seriously?

1) Yes my shot did not connect and kill the guy. At no point did I claim I wanted people to die when I looked at them because they are a lower level than me. Please feel free to spend precious moments of your life to tell me I missed, as [i]I clearly had no idea.[/i]
2) If the light level damage dropoff curve is so pathetic in IB 2.0 that a decent shot from a non-heavy weapon is still a one-shot despite a huge level gap (>3), then your light level doesn't matter in practice. Only in theory. If it only matters in theory, this is IB 1.0[/b]
3) I typically do patrol mission bounties etc before I log out. I do not do these in my level 30 set because my level 30 set has way too much strength over disc/int thanks to rng. Is it [i]so hard to imagine [/i]that a guy can log off in a not level 30 set and still be level 30 when he wants to?

I used to get really mad, then i started to relax, i was playing with my 29 titan andhad to punch a level 24 4 times to killed him, i got killed several times by lower levels, im about to turn rank 3 right now, all i want is the ib gloves so i can turn 30, it doenst matter how many times i die

I agree with this post. Even if they stated maxed weapons would be a threat even with lower levels wielding them, whats the point? The iron banner should be like the Vault of Glass. You finding a team of 30s to take down. Working together. Whats the point if there is no challenge... or very little change. It just feels like the crucible to me. Skill of course is always a must. Don't take what I said wrong. RNGed 30 is not skill. This is why this game sucks. it's too bad I had to play as many hours as I did to realize this. Dragon Age anyone?

A maxed out gun still destroys the same as any other irregardless of Lv. Your Lv fixates more on how much damage your abilities do and how much damage you take while giving you [b]some[/b] damage and armor changes. Also, it's a fusion rifle . . . It does a lot of damage . . .

It's "Bring your best gear" not "Have played more than others!" But it still matters. In crucible, no one stands two meelee hits from me, in IB, level 29 need three meelee hits, so...

2 RepliesIf a level 25 has a fully upgraded gun, and a level 30 has the same fully upgraded gun...who has the better gun? If you can answer this, you shouldn't be questioning the kill in the first place. He could have been level 20 and killed you. You missed your shot.

A fusion rifle usually kills with 1 round at that range if aimed correctly.

He has less gear than than you, that is why he is level 25, so listen now.He has less defense than you.If you both have a 77 wizard, he does the [b]same damage[/b] [b]level does not scale back weapon damage[/b] AKA, it's reasonable that he killed you at med range with a 77 wizard.

That was a legendary FR and you didn't show how well/ poorly upgraded it was also he seemed to hit all shots

I imagine he had his gun fully upgraded. Damage on you is the same, then. On top of it, you missed part of your shot.

It's a very simple answer. Bungie does not believe levels/gear should matter in PvP. They believe this with a religious fervor! They will do mental gymnastics to show they are adding level/gear advantages while at the same time actively working to negate those levels. This is what they did by limiting the level to 20+ and nerfing exotics. I think it's pretty safe to say level/gear advantages will NEVER be that great within IB. If you like the rewards play it but if not stick with the crucible. It's the same thing!

I was stucked by a level 25 lost about 90% of my health. I was shot by a level 25 shotgun twice point blank range lost about 95% of my health. I was shoulder charged by a level 24, lost about 60% of my health. I do 107 damage with my last word with 1 bullet and that was NOT with a hipfire bonus so I can just two shot those low level scrubs. Get good.

What I see is you completely missing and then getting blasted point blank with a fusion rifle. Even a level 20 with a (presumably) fully leveled fusion rifle would kill a level 30 from that range, blnt loser

DeeJ also said that having fully maxed legendary/exotic guns will even the playing field. They die faster than you still, so if you had the slightest amount of skill you wouldn't be complaining.

They said it before.... lower levels can still deal the same amount of damage if their weapons are at 300. The only difference is that they would die quicker to your shots assuming you have 300 weapons. *facepalm* No one knows how to read anymore.

Power might not matter as much as you thought, but skill always matters. All I see is a Fusion Rifle battle that you lost... #Lookslikethatguyjustkilledyou
