I'm planning to do a little information gathering and start a discussion speculating on the Iron Banner's Demise possibly becoming a new PvE favourite.
Right now the Confluence is almost untouchable, mostly because of the great stats and high stability. Full auto is more of a gimmick than anything else, as the same effect can be attained by repeatably mashing the trigger.
I'm not quite Rank 5 yet, so I haven't got my hands on the Demise, but I was able to compare the Demise stats with Confluence
Demise has:
Slightly lower Rate of Fire
Moderately higher Impact
Much further Range
Considerably less Stability
Slightly slower Reload
Oh, 4 less bullets in the magazine and no Solar Burn. The stats are great, but they're no Confluence. Here's the thing though, you're able to reroll the two main perks and 3 changeable perks with Demise, so you could have possible combinations like;
Perfect Balance (Stability)
Firefly (Precision Explosions)
Zen Movement or Persistence (Stability)
Crowd Control (Kills grant Bonus Damage) is another possibility.
Sure you'd have to get a lucky roll, but if you're like me, and willing to invest 2 Motes of Light again and again for the right combination, this gun could quite possibly become a PvE monster.
Save your Motes and aim for this weapon. The Impact alone on this Scout Rifle should sell it.
Thoughts?

Yeah im impressed with its impact and voc-like performance stock. Im scared to reroll as I may lose the firefly.
-
I rerolled till I got zen moment, fitted stock and third eye, so awesome stability and active radar, can't wait to lvl it up.
-
I made one with zen moment and the radar thing while aiming and another with explosive rounds cos I love it. =P
-
From what I understand impact means more pop damage so vision of confluence pve and gheleons demise pvp
-
For some reason it's mag only holds 15 rounds in game, despite it saying it holds 16.
-
I got luck in the chamber, explosive rounds or can choose armor piercing rounds, and firefly for my rank 5 scout rifle. I think it's better than the multi tool but it's either equal to the voc or a little better mostly because of the damage and range.
-
So it seems it's worth the grind? I was going to get a scout but wasn't sure what to get.

Edited by Kilo: 11/23/2014 6:48:09 PMI really like gheleons demise. I did really well with it in the iron banner and it's not even upgraded. Mine has mulligan which I don't really care about and outlaw. For the three in the middle it has explosive rounds, lightweight, and custom optics. It also has a really good sight. I don't mind the recoil because the rof is so slow.

Just picked it up it is sweet got exploding rounds and miss shot cant wait to upgrade it

VOC with mag upgrade to 27 is a pretty great riffle, but I really want the demise for the explosive rounds. Seems better suited for PVE than PVP in which the VOC reigns supreme.

Wanted a great PvP scout. Started with Mulligan and Firefly, cute but not very helpful. One roll later, Third Eye and Zen Moment. Couldn't be happier, now to level it up and see!

I spent 30 motes rerolling mine and got fitted stock (stability - souts don't get perfect balance), return to sender (kills return ammo to the mag sometimes) and firefly. I think it's the best possible for me because it addresses mag size and stability - its biggest weaknesses. I like using it more than VoC.

I have it already. It is beast, i dont have the vision of confluence but i think it is better
-
Already have it and on the way to making it, just unlocked firefly Feels like the A1 scout in terms of power but I have to finish fully upgrading it before I can make a proper judgement
