This may have been in the game before, but last night I noticed that there is a path winding up the hill in the area where your ghost says "We've woken the Hive!" during the darkness something or other mission on the moon. At the top of the path is a banner, which a friend of mine says is commonly used to indicate starting points of strikes (and I think he said the raid too). Has anybody else noticed this? Has this always been there? Could it be the starting point of the next raid? Might make sense since it's outside the Temple of Crota and the raid is called "Crota's End".

Any way you could be a little bit more specific on how to get to this location? I'd love to check it out. Would it happen to be the spot where the Fallen Walker public event happens from time to time?

No, its in the valley-ish area in front of the Temple of Crota (refer to my description above, I believe the mission is called "The Dark Beyond" and it's the first moon mission). From where you enter cut scene in that mission and your ghost says "We've woken the Hive!" after the cutscene, look right (basically on the front door steps of the Temple of Crota). You'll see a raised platform on your right. Jump up there and follow the path up (it will walk you back the way you entered the area only higher up). At the top, you'll come to a cul-de-sac and I believe there's a pile of bones in the center. You'll see a banner/flag on a pole near the wall.

So is it pretty common knowledge that these flags mark strikes/raids or is it just speculation? I don't think I've ever noticed.

I don't know, I didn't investigate that much. I was running patrol missions with a friend for a bounty. I had never actually even seen the area before (although according to other people's comments it has always existed). I told him to meet up with me to see if he'd ever been here before. He said he'd never seen it before and pointed out the flag to me and claimed he'd seen it used to denote the starting point of strikes/raid. I suggested that maybe it has to do with the DLC, and that's about all I know of it.

By the way, it's not like totally cool or anything. You might be disappointed when you see it and think I was making a fuss over nothing. I was just asking because all the pieces seemed to fall together with the large update and incoming DLC.

That's funny because I though that too. I did that mission to get the fusion rifle double kills bounty. I swear I've never seen that small path before, it looks like it's where the Stranger was standing when she's looking down at you.

I have not checked, but the area did exist before the patch - but not as a visible spawn point. The path went up to a crater filled with human bones, if it is the place I am thinking about. Have seen a couple of people post about it, and it sounds like it is definitely changed, in regards to having the typical spawn debris around it. Hope to check it out tonight, before I jump back in to DA:I.

Yea, that's the area I'm talking about. There's a flag/banner on a pole up there. I wanna even say it's checkered too.

Definitely don't recall seeing anything other than the bones up there, so it really does sound like it is new. Only reason I know that the crater and the path to it was there, is that it is part of my farming run. Helium coils used to spawn up there, from time to time. Would imagine that if they have not completely stopped spawning up there already, that they will soon.
