Xbox One Framerate Drop in Party Chat
Edit: Bungie has confirmed via Twitter that they are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it.
Since the new patch, anytime multiple people join a party using party chat the framerate dips way down. My guess is this is related to the new chat feature. Leaving the party brings the game back to normal and game chat is a temporary workaround but not a solution as my group is always switching out characters and being able to communicate during that time makes everything much easier.
Please prioritize this over any other unnecessary changes you had planned like arbitrarily changing the icons for elemental damage.

1 ReplyThe problem SEEMS to manifest after 3 or more are in the Party...switching to game chat does fix the frame rate issue...but is incredibly inconvenient. Having everyone in the same party chat across multiple games is nice if we are trying to get the raid going and someone is working on another game or activity in Destiny. Now we have reverted to sending texts back and forth to coordinate. Feels like quite a step backwards in communication and overall enjoyment. Hope you get it fixed soon. Other than that...I like the new voice chat functionality.

Posted this a while back immediately after update. Lost in the forums.... again. I need like a direct phone number to the devs. I notice so much stuff that gets lost in these forums.

Please fix this party chat lag issue, clan play and group organization is made very difficult with out party chat. It is not possible to always be in a fireteam to chat when organizing between big groups where people need to switch weapons and gear from other characters. As well as just being able to talk to people that aren't doing the same event you are at that particular moment. Please prioritize this fix Bungie! Thanks!

You "fix" one thing (and I use the term "fix" [b]VERY[/b] lightly.) but in the process break many other things. How about like the OP says, work on the more important aspects of this game rather than the pretty little pictures that any monkey and photoshop could make.

Me n my boys play Xbox n party chat over watching tv every day of the week....despite a lot of disappointment the overall game is good n we have all clocked over 300-400 hours...but if this party chat shit ain't addressed soon we will move on. Millions of teams/clans/friends got this game because we shared in the dream...but the reality is now so laughable well be back on COD in a few days. Gaming with friends is an ea@y choice over gaming with strangers!

Yep this happened to all of us on Xbox one in VOG last night. Terrible lag. First time it happened. When not in a party game was fine.

Same problem here, frame rate drops wayyy down when in party chat on Xbox one. Makes game unplayable.

2 RepliesI was wondering what caused that. I tried to do Vault of Glass last night and everyone in our party was experiencing this frame-rate drop (we were in Xbox party chat) Now that I think about it, the slowdowns didn't occur until we all grouped up in party chat. Also, the frame-rate went back to normal as everyone started to leave the chat afterward.
