Edited by DarkSpyda04: 11/21/2014 11:04:21 PMIf you think that's weird, the root word "VER" which means "truthfulness" fails at the word "VERanda/VERandah" which is a type of balcony or open patio. Say I'm taking the SAT, I've studied all of my root words, and I'm asked to best define the word "veranda" - How am I supposed to know what it means? It somehow magically defies the definition of the root word that is supposed to hint the word's meaning. Even after I've studied my ass off, it still comes down to a guess. Luckily the SAT will be easier in 2016 and students will no longer have to memorize vague, far and off words that they never heard before. Instead the new SAT will test words that you already know, but challenge you by figuring out which best fits the sentence. It's more contextual and less about memorizing. http://time.com/64493/sat-vocabulary/
