I don't care if i get reported for quitting early i'm not doing all the work for you people to get a exotic or legendary. I'm sick of it bungie needs a better system to kick the afk players. like they have so much time to enter a darkness zone before they get kicked.or let team members vote kick someone.
In the past 4 days I've seen 2 players get exotics and 4 get legendary engrams but have no kills. as for me and the other players that do the strike get pure bullshit and i'm sick of it.
so if anyone else is sick of this shit besides me post your experiences so we can keep this topic going...same goes for pvp
on a side note i see posts about i paid 60-100 bucks for the game i'll play how i want to.....that's fine you want to spawn camp a mob or something like that fine i don't care. but when it comes to strikes or crucible either play or GTFO
and if I see you doing nothing i'll report you in destiny and to xbox and ask the other strike members to do the same
p.s. to those who are going to make some butt hurt comment about the gear. i have raid gear and only lacking pocket infinity, gjallarhorn, vex mythoclast and VOC as well as hawkmoon but that one is because i'm on xbox....so its not just about rewards its the principle of the matter

This literally happened to me tonight. I played 2 strikes just at reset to get my treasure and maybe an exotic. This player went deliberately AFK on me and my teammate 99.9% of the time. At first, it seemed she wasn't there at all. Surprisingly, they made it through the whole first strike, but when we got to the 2nd strike boss, this person INTENTIONALLY went downstairs and sat in a corner. When the boss died, they IMMEDIATELY got up. Bungie, you guys really need to do something about this. This is coming from someone who's played over 7,000 strikes between Xbox One and PS4 since launch. I've run into plenty of AFK people, but this person takes the cake for worst AFK player ever.

Edited by Barbatos: 2/27/2015 7:15:37 AMFor the last nightfall featuring summoning pits I recruited some random who wanted me to do the activity for him. I send him an invite, he joins, and I proceed. After a short while I notice I'm alone. Is he changing his loadout? Emergency bathroom stop? I check and find him chilling on the other side of the Hellmouth. He's at his controller because he would walk every few seconds. Ok, I'll give him a chance. Continue on with the strike and he still hasn't come. Go back and now find he's doing a public event. By that point I had enough of this freeloader and kicked, defriended him, and set my fireteam to closed. What kind of a dumbass tries to freeload off others in a nightfall? I wasn't expecting much for strike changes, but forced matchmaking was not a good one. A means to cut down on afkers would've been great but forced matchmaking is just going to increase the number of incidents. Hopefully, Bungie implements something. "on a side note i see posts about i paid 60-100 bucks for the game i'll play how i want to". That's a common excuse for douchebaggery. I get people pay for a game, however, when it comes to online there needs to be a level of respect and common courtesy. I noticed this sentiment quite a lot in Battlefield. Douchebags would rent servers and treat them like their own private dictatorships. Some servers had reasonable rules that were put in place to make matches more fun and challenging, but some were run to give admins an unfair advantage. They would use the line you mentioned as to give validity to their actions

I'll just send them msgs and then quit. I'm not carrying one of them.
-
Easiest way to fix this would be to ensure that only players present at the final fight get rewarded for the strike... then add some sort of barrier that spawns in on a timer whenever the fireteam enters a darkness zone. If you don't stay with the team (within reason... gotta account for a quick pee break or whatever) then you are literally locked out from progressing to the next fight, meaning you can't get to the final boss and be rewarded for the strike.
-
If I could do the playlist alone it would be so great. I can solo faster then with 3 period. The damage increase is amazing and I don't need to wait on people. The only strike that it helps to have another is the summoning pits. I solo nightfall on three Character, yet I need a team to do a 24 strike... Lame. Not to mention tiger strikes are incredibly boring. I run into 1 afk for every 3 strikes. There should be a kicking system for this.

Just experienced my first AFKer. Ass! He just sat there while the other guy and I ran through. We got to the boss and he jumped up on a ledge to hide. I guess the game dragged him along? The other guy and I left him alone with the boss and went back to orbit.
-
I usually knock out some of my bounties during strikes so If i catch it. I will keep playing, working a bounty then quit the game. Without completing it. Doesn't bother me much. Waste their time too. Hell they just sat there doing nothing and got nothing.
-
They're trying to get the strike without dying. Kill them with your sparrow and report them. Then leave the strike and hope for helpful team mates on the next attempt.
-
I can't believe you've seen exotics dropped in strikes. Never seen it.
-
Easy. Report: Inactive/unhelpful/cheating The regulars will get enough tallies if everyone is persistent in the quest.
-
Solution: Go to the nearest darkness zone, shoot a rocket to your own face and die. Scrubs failed the mission not to die and you can just report and leave afterwards :)
-
There needs to be a code along with their RNG that won't generate loot unless ur kill or assists (for people carrying lower level friends) are a certain amount. I mean afkers are stupid and selfish. Ok u want to finish with no deaths but guess what. I picked up the same bounty. So what we gonna do if all 3 people picked the same bounty and are all afk? I think maybe we WORL TOGETHER. Now that we have the chat I hope people will go afk less bc now u can talk strategy
-
If I get 2/3 of the way through and the other 1 or 2 haven't moved forward I just drop and go back into the strike list... Yes I report as well, but since nothing happens when I do, I just quit
-
afk in my strike: you get 10 secs to start playing, then you get sparrow splattered and 7 reports for not playing, then i back out to find a new strike
-
Edited by I Joe Guitar I: 11/18/2014 5:54:02 AMjust quit & find a new match, thats what i do. I dont carry any lazy ass mongrel, if the dog wants his bone then he can go get it himself.
-
Ive done this once, i spawned half way and had to help clear some stuff out but ended up soloing the boss for them.
-
I do this while I'm doing chores and usually get a legendary. Hope they don't fix this cause it's an easy way to grind without having to grind
-
Edited by iluvduckies14: 11/17/2014 11:35:09 PMYou could always report them as unhelpful.
-
i have no idea what afk meens though
-
i started a game before gave the guy a minute he never moved so just left lol
-
I posted this earlier......... For all you going AFK to complete the bounty of not dying in a strike there is a work around to this. 1) Open settings menu 2) Choose Game 3) TURN DOWN YOUR SUCK METER!!!!! 4) Problem Solved **** Applause erupts ****
-
This happened to me last weekend. Is there a way to block a player? I didn't see any "Block" options in the Destiny Menu.
-
Had this happen to me a few times... I just rush my way to the respawn restricted zones, run to the closest wall and launch a rocket into it so we would auto fail... on a side note, just got the ice-breaker this past weekend from a tiger
-
I swear to god the majority of the time the people who go afk get the -blam!-ing exotics. So I'm trying it too for awhile lmao
