Sparrow Races....Confirmed?!!
Hey guys. Ever since the last weekly update (11/13/14), I've been wondering about that new sparrow surprise. Some people are thinking maybe it's a sparrow race module. Others speculate that it is simply a new sparrow. If it is a sparrow race mode, then the game would start to show some [b]ACTUAL[/b] signs of progression.
If you click on the image above, you'll see the new sparrow surprise announcement. Notice the words [quote]EV-30:D.T.S[/quote] underneath the sparrow in the picture. This could mean that it's a new sparrow prototype.
The name [quote]Tricks Up Sleeves[/quote], could indicate sparrow tricks. Maybe we will receive official default trick integrated sparrows hence the name. Maybe we'll be able to do wheelies, barrel rolls, or even boosted 360-degree flips.
I hope that it actually means both sparrow races AND new sparrows with tricks. Hopefully this next update will be something to rant about. We won't know until the [b]season pass holders[/b][b] (the people who bought a season pass separately OR have acquired it through the Collectors Edition of Destiny)[/b]
The season pass holders will be the very first people to try this new thing out and hopefully report back to the community as to what exactly this new surprise is if it is something awesome, then to hold back information and go along with the surprise
I don't know about you guys but I'm looking forward the surprise.

Its posted right beside where they say preorders will be getting a gift, the guy in the picture looks to be doing a trick or barrel roll.. Like the announced speeders. Maybe the 4 horsemen speeders are gifts for preordered dlc

1 ReplyThere are a few new sparrows that were data-mined a few weeks back. There was a new perk attached to them where they do a barrel roll instead of a speed boost.

Lower symbols, and symbol below sparrow, left to right...... circle (maybe the ollie being pulled in the pic is activated by circle) A sparrow chassis from above Cross with a triangle underlaid A triangle It cant be coincidence. We know these are trick sparrows but that may be a clue to the control scheme

it may not be races, but it certainly is trick sparrows, they can barrel roll mid air sparrows able to do it were previewed a long time ago as a possability they were looking at. I believe moreconsole tried one

Bungie has stated many times it will not alienate any of its player-base. This will be a purely cosmetic thing, a shader or perhaps some trick move controlled from the D-Pad. Edit: At the time of that Halloween-era patch four unique sparrows were actually downloaded to your console. People thought they would be for a Halloween event due to the timing but Bungie said they weren't. It could very well be those sparrows since they allowed for barrel-rolls in the air (tricks like in the picture). It makes sense.

Based on the picture and the rider off the sparrow I think it's jump/relic related. Also possibly racing. Think of motocross when the cross the finish like they do a maneuver much like the one shown in the pic. I for one can't wait and my saved clips on xb1 can prove that.
