I am disgusted by the attempts of some people in this community attempting to take advantage of Bungie’s / DeeJ’s good nature. Since Bungie made it into the news by sending a patient “the Fate of All Fools” I have seen people complain about PTSD, unspecified “mental issues”, sexual harassment, aspergers etc., etc…
My wife has a very attractive human hunter that is level 28. She has done hundreds of strikes and countless public events and bounties and not once has she ever received a private message except to ask “Do you want to do the nightfall?” or “Weekly heroic?” Once a guy did follow her around killing everything for her, we both thought it was hilarious and we referred to him as her “White Knight.” But he never sent her a message nor did he even try to join her group.
Unspecified mental issues? Please you live in a first world country, I’m sure we could all be diagnosed with something that, is the capitalist nature of our healthcare system.
As to the aspergers gentleman, I would like to address this one as I have helped children with aspergers and they are a joy in most game settings, their social dysfunction generally does not translate to the virtual world because they are not in public and they can focus on their game.
I have dealt with a lot of combat veterans living near the largest Marine base on the east coast and I can tell you that if you are that bad off to where you cannot raid or play an FPS please seek help Dogs for soldiers is a great program that where the military will give you a retired military dog to help you and the program has worked wonders. Contact www.maketheconnection.net/PTSD or pets-for-vets.com the programs save lives video games do not.
I’ve been steaming over the opportunists I’ve seen on these forums trying to take advantage of a company’s good intentions and it disgusts me and makes me ashamed to be a part of the community.
I just needed to get this off my chest.
Drink and be merry, play and be happy.
