So I'm floating around the tower... Minding my own business, right? When I get spammed by some guys to join their game. I usually am pretty nice and will at least reply, if not just join. I decided to entertain them and join their group, knowing they were headed to normal mode VOG.
The nightmare begins. I can usually make a normal VOG run in about 30-45 minutes, this being reliant on the people with me having an idea what's going on and not screwing around.
We entered the vault, I clearly asked "everyone knows what they're doing in here right? If not let me know so I can help you out." I received an all around answer of "yes".
We had a 10 year old kid, 2 guys who apparently were mute, and a very angry redneck accompanying myself and a seasoned VOG friend.
We venture in and all hell breaks loose, every 5 seconds someone is dying. The kid in the group continues to play Rambo and not listen and repeatedly walks away from roles he should have had little trouble with (protecting constructs, etc.) two people obviously had never attempted the raid in any manor and would ignore simple advice. The angry redneck guy was cussing at everyone claiming he was far superior and made excuses that others were slacking and causing him to die (which would likely be true if it wasn't for the fact he had no tactical sense). It took us 40 minutes just to get to the gorgon maze. In the gorgon maze the kid ran ahead every time and either forced us to die by being caught or by leading inexperienced players directly to gorgons. The angry redneck started cussing at me for trying to get people on track. After 50 minutes in the gorgon maze we finally got clear.
Then the true nightmare happened... Have you ever fought Atheon with two people who refused to listen, kill the suicide harpies, pick up relics, tell you what planet/time they were in, or not shoot oracles at all? It was another 50 minute process.
ON NORMAL
Levels were 30,29,29,29,28,27
Because of this I am apprehensive to join with random people now....
I did manage to score a "complete" raid set (original post edited due to trolls) for my already level 30 warlock though.

I had a similar time on my normal raid last week. I had a laugh though, it became clear after 30 mins that my buddy and I were the only people to have played the VOG before. It's funny fighting Atheon with players screaming "arghhhh I'm not picking it up, the pressure is too much!!!!" Litterally had to wait until either me or my buddy were in either teleport party (after we taught them to SHOOT oracles) I don't mind though. Got there in the end. Also pay it forward. Everyone's a noob at one time right?
