Halo: MCC. What's your favorite game mode to play and what's your favorite map to play on? (Includes custom games). On a side note, do you all make custom maps alot or just play default maps? I just made my first two custom maps and they are very good in my opinion.

I haven't played enough games to truly give a good shout out for any game for Game of the Year, it sounds like DA: I is the popular vote. Out of what I HAVE played from this year, the game that I think does what it sets out to do the most is a little side scroll space shooter called Velocity 2X with really good incentive for speed run type gameplay, gorgeous art style and a discount Samus Arran main character. But, not a triple A game so that doesn't really fit the bill of GOTY very well. On that note perhaps Second Son (only going from what I have managed to play this year), it's only major flaws to me were black and white moral choices and too short a story, everything else seemed lovely.

6 I would have to give game of the year to advanced warfare. Reasons for that are: 1. RNG makes sense do good and you will get good loot from supply drop. 2. It revolutionized how cod will develop there newer style of player movement. 3. It's one hell of a good PVP game.

I thought shadow of mordor was really good....replay value was slightly less then they made it seem...but other than that it was a great game....it was definitely an over achiever

Edited by Jphn_33: 11/16/2014 4:32:59 PMMost disappointing game? Aliens: Colonial Marines. Even if you think a different game takes the cake, you have to admit that this one was pretty bad. We were shown gameplay that depicted a tense horror setting in the Alien universe. It was great, and everyone was excited. Then when it came out, it was nothing but a gallery shooter, adding to the plethora of bad Alien games. I'm happy that Alien: Isolation redeemed the franchise, though.

About topic #2, Brink was the most disappointing? I thought Brink was a great game.
-
Pong is definitely game of the year!
-
From what I've played this year: Dark Souls 2, since they improved the already amazing mechanics of the first one, and even though it got a ton wrong, it's still better than a lot of the games this year I played.

Edited by hyenaedon: 11/28/2014 3:40:55 AMDefinitely PvZ Garden Warfare. Lot's of variety, awesome gameplay, easy to learn, free DLC, just a really well made game.
About Special Topic 3, I've decided not to Pre-Order games anymore and wait for reviews because of the insane amount of disappointing games this year.
My GOTY would probably be Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's got so much content and replay value while also not being a disappointment at its launch.
-
Dragon Age: Inquisition in my opinion. There's a lot to do, it's fun, easy to understand the mechanics, and looks really nice. I'd take away some points due to some problems with navigating (trying to jump up dwarven ruins and their hexagonal stones) and some choppy character animations. The story may be a little confusing to new comers, but they do a decent job of summing the basic things up. Sunset Overdrive would be a close second choice for me. But I've sunk more hours into DA:I and it's multiplatform so it can reach a wider audience.
-
GOTY? Bayonetta 2 but it probably won't win sadly.

Well with matchmaking in shambles at release, I played a lot of custom games with friends in forge maps and modes like bumper cars, racing, etc. now I don't get on MCC that much because finals are coming up and I don't have a lot of spare time atm.
-
Racing in customs and favorite map was forge world
