Thoughts on DLC?

So, a lot of people tend to hate DLC, since many companies use this as ways to squeeze extra dimes and nickels out of a game, sometimes the content is on the disc but locked until the dlc is paid for. Are there any companies that properly use DLC to genuinely add extra content to a game that is already finished? Bethesda and the Dishonored dlc(I think they only published it not made it) as well as the dlc for Last of Us seemed pretty fair from reviews.

Borderlands is probably one of the best but what also happens sometimes is that they aren't able to use the same voice actors that the used in the main game and have to use a different one like in the Borderlands 2 DLC.

    • Borderlands 2 and skyrim had great DLC. It cost $$$, but you got a lot of bang for your buck :)

I like all DLC really, as long as its not like required for the game (excluding Fallout 3's broken steel). I think DLC is generally a good idea and fair to be paid for, as long as the game doesn't feel empty without it. I appreciate it more when the DLC has clearly been added after, like with Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC, people including me started playing a almost 2 year-old game again due to it, and it still felt fresh and awesome, which is great.

It depends on how much content it has and how much for it. I really like dlc that actually offers great amount of content for a fair price. Bethesda so far knows how to handle it.

      • I don't mind DLC as long as it has enough content to justify the price. The Campions Bundle for Halo 4had a lot of content for $10. 2 maps 6 stances 7 armor sets 12 weapon skins 3 perks I wish there was more Skyrim DLC. Shivering Isles was awesome for only $10

I like most DLC, especially those that enhance or continue a story for a good game. For instance, I will always invest in DLC for Borderlands and Mass Effect.

      • I still remember back when DICE claimed they would never charge us for DLC. How far they've fallen.
