Despite the fact that your post is sarcasm, it's still spot on. Doing three strikes and then buying an exotic is not earning them. Getting an RNG drop on your first raid is not earning it either. The guy that did hundreds and hundreds of strikes before getting an exotic earned it. The guy that did the raid 30+ times before getting an exotic earned it. There are very few people who have actually earned their exotics.
