It's closer to Dragon Age Origins with some of the action orientated combat of Dragon Age 2 and getting rid of button mashing which is a huge plus for me. Animations for the game are massively improved as well making your character's attacks feel like they have weight and power along with the abilities that just look so damn cool making actually watching the battle more enjoyable than it's predecessors. The new addition of the tactical view instantly makes it a more tactical experience than Dragon Age Origins because you can now look at the battlefield from a different perspective giving you a new found ability to position the squad effectively and allowing you to think about the enemies you attack with what character and where from. The new revive mechanic in the middle of battle that requires a good amount of thought to actually achieve giving players more incentive to position the squad effectively instead of letting all the party members go willy nilly at the sight of an enemy again adding to the strategic factor. Ultimately I think this is the best iteration of Dragon Age gameplay but I have one minor gripe with it and that's
bunny hopping let's you move a lot faster
