Technically u did earn it because u killed the enemy that dropped it... i dont understand how people dont see the logic behind this concept.. i mean seriously my 6yr old nephew understands this concept lol

the logic is simple, it dropped because of rng. that legendary engram could easly have been green or blue, but i got a lucky roll and got a purple. if there was a loot system that based drops of level of mobs or things like that then it might be different, but since you can get the same engram drops from a level 6 mob as a level 26 mob, it's not really earning it from rng. if you go to work and get a pay check and buy an item from the store you would say you earned that item through hard work, but if you found that money on the street and bought an item, then you just got lucky. that is the difference between getting an rng drop and buying stuff from Xur

No ur logic is wrong.. is it really that hard to grasp the concept? U did earn it because you fought the mob that dropped it..
-
you earned a drop but the type of drop is run by rng, that could have been ammo or a lower quality engram. so by your method of reasoning getting coins from a mission and buying stuff is earning it as well.
-
So u just said u earned a drop.. contradiction haha
-
Yes every kill grants you a rng roll for a drop, I never said it didn't, what the drop is is completely random though so if you get a legendary drop, that was by complete luck, because it could have been ammo or a lower quality item.
-
Yeah ur right on the type of drop but just proved my point
-
I still say getting strange coins and buying from Xur is more of an earned item then and rng drop, because you have to bust your ass doing the weekly strike vs killing a level 6 mob and getting an rng drop
-
Yeah i understand and agree with that part.. but my whole point is that u did earn the item.. just got lucky it was a good item
-
i see your point of view as well...and it is very true
