The Harbinger tears through the armor of the Jaeger's and infects their pilots. The Jaegers proceed to fire upon all orbiting ships.

Long-Range controls disables all Hostile Jaegers and causes self destruct. The fleets are ordered to keep their distances.

That doesn't sound like someone you want to -blam!- with. the Spartans are ordered to try and pull back and wait for the tanks to open fire, also a super carrier has been deployed and ready to fire from orbit if it gets too bad.
