Skipped everything and did Atheon on hard straight away. Got timebreaker and shards which I already had. Damn it I want Vex!

That sucks. I raided about 15 times on hard before getting the vex. Then got 2 more back to back. You're really not missing much till they buff it. Only thing it's useful for is knocking off the 2 kills 20 times bounty in a matter of minutes. Counts as multi kills as long as the trigger is held down.
