Destiny is now dead. The number of people playing have drastically dropped so much, that the people posting in these forums make up about 45% of the population now. It's why people are getting kicked from matchmaking, no players can be found. Most of you know this, but lie to yourselves and to others by saying "Destiny isn't dead!" or claiming that you still encounter other players. It's a sad desperate attempt to get people to play the game.
It's a depressing situation, I know. Destiny could have been brilliant, but instead it's a dire warning about what happens to quality when corporate greed becomes a priority. But do not despair, there are much better games in the market right now. Here are just a few:
Shadow of Mordor
Sunset Overdrive (this game kicks so much ass)
Call of duty Advanced Warfare
The evil within
Borderlands the Pre-sequel
