I mean, we are remembering soldiers who have fallen in the first and second world wars.
The fact that we play some games involving killing on the same day we remember those who were killed...is that disrespectful? I ask because my friend said "I would show you zombies but don't want to play AW on remembrance day." I think it's self explanatory has to why he didint want to.
So is that disrespectful?
Just wondering.
lest we forget...
edit: just saying, im not really sure if it would actually be disrespectful or not. I was asking if you guys thought it was or not. I've actually been told to F off by a friend after I played one game of CoD on Remembrance Day. He said it was disrespectful cause it was a violent game on a day of remembering a violent event. Just wondering if anyone also thought it was disrespectful.

Nah. People are too sensitive.
-
as long as you respect the veterans themselves it's fine. last remembrance day I booted up COD WAW (even though I hate COD) granted, it's NOTHING like what they had to go through in real life, but it was the only immersion into that time period I had.
-
No, it's not.
-
Is this some sort of joke?
-
Stop being a sensitized suckbag. Shit happens, people die, get over it. Respect the victims Ofcourse, but playing a fûcking video game is nothing close to disrespectful.
-
-
A lot of people gave you hate on this:(
-
No, but your friend is a true patriot.
-
Yes, killing pixels in a virtual world where the consequences don't matter in the real world is extremely disrespectful. Lets honor the veterans who have fought in the Battle For Earth in 2552 because without them this world wouldn't be the same.

Nope.

I don't think it's disrespectful, we play violent video games everyday, and people die everyday. You would have to ban games like CoD completely.

Edited by HandofCirca: 11/11/2014 11:27:53 PMIt could be to some. Lets say you hand a grandfather who fought in ww2 and he happens to see you playing. I could understand him viewing that as disrespectful.
-
It is not
-
Someone asked this very question last year and my opinion is still the same.
lol, no.
-
If we play them every other day, is that disrespectful? What's the point of remembering something one day if it still happened every other day?
sorry if you can't understand I gave blood
-
If it's a ww shooter then yeah.
-
Oh, shut the fuck up.
-
No, the real disrespect is that humanity is still fighting meaningless wars today in spite of the sacrifices made in years passed. Have some mates round, opening a few beers and having fun playing Halo 2 is a minor sleight weighed against that.
