$1 says the new currency in destiny means actual $$$
Going through the released notes, I bet 1 $ that the new "currency" to use at vendors will be actual money, the micro transactions are in motion...that is the next big patch from destiny....no real voice chat, in game clan options or matchmaking....just squeezing money out of you....

Nope, sorry. The new currency is Commendations. You earn Commendations by ranking up Vanguard and Crucible

1 ReplyJust to be clear. If micro transactions ever happen I'm trading this game back in and never buying a bungie/activision game EVER again. Ive only ever traded one game back in and it was black ops. A game has to really piss me off the justify trading it back in. I am a bungie fanboy, I will get the DLCs. But that would be a deal breaker. Deej make sure it doesn't happen ever.

I doubt it. They're looking to make money and keep destiny afloat by selling the DLC. If the DLC were to be free, then we can expect micro-transaction to be introduced.

5 RepliesMost MMO style games implement new currencies when patches/expansions come out. This is pretty common. It makes players have to grind to get the new gear instead of just having a bunch of the old currency to buy the new gear.

Strange coins are already in game and useless for me and i'm presuming everyone else that has passed xur these last few weeks He's only sold things i have already or do not want.

What new currency are you talking about? The weekly update said New economies to equip you with upgrade materials Which doesn't mean they're adding new currency it means they'll probably be adding a vendor to buy spinmetal and stuff like that from

I was about to buy season pass. Now that you mention this I think I'll wait for early adopters reviews. No way im buying a game, a season pass and then still have to pay for microtransactions.
