All that SWATing is doing will lead to the government shutting down video games completely. It costs a ton of money to call in the swat team, so the tax payers money goes to them, not to the community. They'll have full rights to shutting video games down because it can cause actual harm.

Not going to happen, at least in the U.S. Liberals might try, because they are retarded pricks, but it'd never fly in the courts.
-
Most, if not all, of your rights ,came from liberals.
-
None of my rights come from liberals. They come from the Constitution. Liberals are about ignoring the Constitution to restrict freedoms.
-
I'm sorry. I thought my rights came from the constitution that I swore to support and defend when I enlisted before I was medically discharged... You better check yourself before you make some half-assed comments in the future.
-
... and who introduced the majority of Amendments to said Constitution? The progressives. The conservatives were happy with a male-dominated white society.
-
Just like the conservatives were racist as well, huh?
-
A vast majority were and still are, yes.
-
Haha Love it. You know it was the republicans (conservatives) who abolished slavery while the KKK was predominantly democrats (liberals/progressives) right? Maybe you should brush up on your education...
-
Or maybe you should understand politics of the Civil War era. The parties were essentially reversed in ideologies during that era, Republicans were progressives and Democrats were converatives. Also, Lincoln (who was actually a member of the Whig party... look up that and see how "conservative" they were) freeing the slaves was a politically motivated act to end the bloodiest sustained conflict in American history. I do believe, good sir, you have just been "schooled" as the kids say.
-
You must not know how much revenue the video game industry generates if you think the government would "shut down video games" ...
-
The government doesn't make any profit off of video games, its the publishers and corporation, and so on, so why wouldn't they? Liberals will make a fuss about this in the next following weeks for sure.
-
No but it generates a shit ton of revenue which creates a lot of jobs and leads to more consumption, which improves the economy. Think before you try and refute something.
-
Thats a broad statement because theres many different outlets on producing economical revenue. Cigarettes, cars, food, clothes, movies, stocks, etc. Almost anything and everything can turn into a cash cow. Job loss is the only real negative factor.
-
Well obviously anything sold in a market generates economic revenue... The video game industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. You must not have an economic background; there would be a lot more negative effects than job loss.

So it is juz gamers doing the swatting how is this confirmed, juz because a gamer got caught? Doesn't mean it juz gamers

Edited by VisageOfAnAngel: 11/8/2014 7:28:54 PMAll the "SWATTING" B.S. I hear about is from teen (and pre-teen) gamers. You get trolled in WoW? Time to S.W.A.T. the guy You get owned in competitive multiplayer because you suck? Time to S.W.A.T. You don't agree with some business decisions? Time to S.W.A.T. My generation would just not buy the product or gripe on a forum in protest. Kids today are stupid.
-
Wow I didn't realize it was happening that often, crazy kids , sounds right what your saying ( teens) they don't truly understand what there doing , not thinking about adalesances and how that can have a lasting effect , and sorry for grammer and spelling
-
It doesn't matter if its a gamer or not. Its the fact that it WAS a gamer who got caught, so the government can rule in laws saying games are bad, it leads to swatting, we must ban them now, etc. If this continues by the gaming community, they'll eventually be forced to shut it down.
-
What is swatting?
-
Essentially a prank call to the SWAT team, claiming that there is a violent threat in "x" household. The swat breaks into your home, basically trashes your house, and realizes that you are not a threat and that someone was faking the call
-
And they did that to bungie?
-
One of the bungie executives at his own home, yes. Details are in the article that OP posted^^^
-
I think bungie will hate the community after this
-
Faking an emergency call to 911 so they can raid the persons house.
-
Gotta love society
