Ok, so my question is fairly straightforward. I got my first raid armor yesterday (Kabr's Wrath chest armor) and it provides for 5 armor upgrades, but so do my other legendary armors. My understanding that going full raid gear (or 3 raid armor & exotic) is the only way to get to lvl 30.
So, that said, before I spend ascendant shards anywhere: What is the difference between upgrading legendary Raid armor vs upgrading "standard" legendary armor? Are the upgrade slots worth more? I.E. 2 light points per legendary upgrade, vs 2.4 points per raid upgrade?
Someone educate my ignorance about raid gear. :) Thanks all.

Edited by theSTOOPIDnoob: 11/7/2014 5:35:05 PMThe basic answer is that fully upgraded legendary armor can only be upgraded to 27 light which won't get you to lvl30. All raid armor max out at 30 light which allows you to get there once everything is maxed. If you look at my lvl29 Hunter my leg armor and chest piece are legendary, fully upgraded, and maxed at 27 light. I now have a raid gauntlet and chest piece that I'll equip once I level them up which will go to 30. In short 1 exotic and 3 raid pieces are required for 30, with any other combo best you can do is 29.
