Oh man, let me tell you the joys of having 1:42 minutes -blam!-ing evaporate right from under you because some dumb -blam!-ing Cabal infantry dude broke pathing, dropped off a ramp, and one-hit-kill melee'd you within one -blam!-ing second.
As if Nightfall isn't hard enough, the adds that keep coming and -blam!-ing coming into the fight severely limit interaction with the boss in solo play. By the time a wave of adds is done - or at least the dangerous ones - you can seriously get off maybe one magazine before the next goddamned wave of adds slows things down again.
Enough is enough, Bungie. This is a lot of weight for a solo player to shoulder already, and the adds keep stocking up like there's a full -blam!-ing fireteam going at it. My friends list is emptying as this game goes on and it is not easy to find or get together a group for Nightfall or the Weekly Strike. Don't even ask about the Raid, but let's just say I've gainfully played it twice now. Twice. Put some -blam!-ing matchmaking in.
God damn I can just feel my ears burning. Nearly two goddamned hours because one chump boss fight interruption melee'd me and bullshit killed me in one hit. Valus Ta'aurc is a LONG goddamned mission. Kill his guards. Blow up his buddy's -blam!-ing Goliath tank. Go fight Valus Ta'aurc and his endless buffet of minions, missiles, and minigun bullets.
Go to hell, Bungie. Or -blam!-ing fix your game.

In my haste to get through this week's Nightfall, I forgot to check for any Element effects going on and was nearly done before I picked up on Arc Burn being the flavor de la semaine. So, friendly reminder - really look at the effects on the Nightfall Strike.
-
Solo is actually a bit easier. The enemies take significantly less damage, and you don't have to worry about going into fire to revive a teammate. That being said, last weeks NF had no damage modifier. It was pure bullet sponge time. This week, it's arc damage. Oh my goodness. It's beautiful. If you have Plan C, or P and T, go with that. Preydeths Timepiece is good too. Plus any arc HMG just makes things so much easier. Take your time, and always leave an escape route. Oh, and on the Ghost who can't open doors quickly section, snipe. From far away. Just snipe until it's over. Makes things so much easier. Icebreaker helps a lot there. You will make it dude. But yeah, matchmaking would be nice in-game for these things.

I lol'd at #goddamnit...that's how you know this gentleman is truly pissed.
-
I did the nightfall solo.
-
Lol this dude is mad because cheesing the mission in the corner didn't work! You can't get mad lol
-
Solo is easier, you just need the right weapons and not to rush like a headless chicken, it took me between 20/25mims to do this week nightfall, poor Archor got destroyed in less than a minute, 20 bullets from PaT are enough to kill it.

Destiny was never meant to be a solo game. However the lack of text or voice chat outside of fireteams says a different story.
-
True story
-
*sigh* Things like the Nightfall aren't meant for solo play they're meant for a full fire team of 3, which isn't that hard to find
-
Get good. Get Smart. Destinylfg.net will solve all your matchmaking problems, guaranteed. For best result use at weekly reset (Tuesday). Plus you'll have the xp bonus for doing everything else after. Don't -blam!-ing bitch that a game mode designed for 3 high level players is difficult to near impossible to do by yourself. That's just -blam!-ing stupid.
-
Nightfalls are not at all meant to be soloed despite that fact that it "can" be done. It's unforgiving. Playing with a single friend yields a failsafe to the problem with which you based your entire post. If you had just one person with you you could have been revived (potentially). If not, that further proves the difficulty. Try it with someone else. It will make it more enjoyable to suffer that garbage and those "boss is almost dead WTF how'd that happen" wipes that will certainly take place.
-
Its almost to easy to find a fire team to do weekly, nightfall and raid...I can find a team in under 5 min.
-
Nightfall aren't meant to be soloed necessarily. Also there easy as shit so I don't want them any easier. Just get better
-
I see your characters are all 28 or below. You really need to be at 28 or higher for the nightfall. Best option is to do sunsinger warlock to get the self-rez perk to increase your odds of finishing without dying. They are not impossible to solo, just not easy. They get a little bit easier at level 29 but they are still difficult solo.
-
This will blow your mind, but it's actually usually easier to solo Nightfalls than play them with a group. With more players, the adds become MUCH tougher and more numerous. I sort of hate to say it, but USE TERRAIN CHEESE. The whole point of Nightfall Strikes is that the game hates you right then, so you shouldn't feel the slightest shame in hating it back. But hate it productively. Find ways to exploit terrain safe spots and AI scripting to win.

Edited by BBreezy819: 11/10/2014 6:34:12 PMSorry bro. Nightfall was never meant for solo play. I solo a lot and I do pretty well, but I know not to go into nightfall without a full fireteam. Tho if you're a high enough lvl you can handle it
Destiny is like Los Angeles. There are good parts and bad parts. The players are cops. The Nightfall is the bad part of LA that cops only go to when they're in force.
-
Yea bungie. It's almost like these modes are designed for 3 man fire teams! What the heck!
-
Matchmaking now please (for weekly and nightfall at a minimum)
-
You had issues? This was the easiest nightfall to solo yet. No, I'm not being one of those elitist jerks here either.
-
Edited by Shardeus: 11/10/2014 4:18:54 PM2 hours for a solo nightfall? Are you trying to do it with your 26? Or your 27? ( don't :P ) plus this nightfall is even easier to solo because there is 0 spike damage from burns , just have to play smart
-
Change up the way you play. Snipe, ammo synthesis, head shots. Figure out good camp spots. You shouldn't be close enough to enemies for light switch if you're soloing. It's really not that difficult.
-
Guess I need to keep posting this on these types of posts. Go to www.destinylfg.com or any other number of matchmaking sites available for destiny atm and make some new friends. Enjoy!
-
Here's a tip.... play better and grind for better stuff that's what this game is all about... your such a wuss... goodness sake I hate this hand-it-to-me on a silver platter generation... it's called WORKING for it
-
I can only solo nightfall on my Warlock with fireborn. I usually die 3-4 times. There is no way I can finish it with my Titan or Hunter. There is always some death in an unexpected place too. My first time this week took over 5 hours and I had to quit to sleep. The spawn kept coming, waves after waves (maybe 30 of them) and they never stopped. I was on the wrong side of the room, near the boss spawn on the right, where I should have been near the boss on the left. Still took me 3 hours to finish.
-
Playing solo is only bad if you die a lot, meaning you suck.
-
Its not supposed to be easy. Thats the point.
