Well the tough thing as an artist is showing that a character is female through armor. This requires more curvature than blocker male pieces. Breast are an incredibly easy way to show that a character is male or female when you cannot see their face.

Are you sure? Because I mean, there's hip size, height, how weight is being held, broad/narrow shoulders, neck thickness, and muscle mass. Even better, you can have armor that makes it obvious that there are breasts present, but you just make a uniboob that doesn't imply that the armor would be harmful. It's the dip that artists make that points into the sternum that's dangerous and stupid.

Depends there are tasteful ways to do it. And the sillioette (can't spell for shit) is very important. But it's hard to make something that looks realistically protective and keep that him curve. Also I'm all for the pronounced flat chest plate. But I imagine there is an amount of sex appeal they wanted in the design. Hell have you seen a female hunter on a sparrow?

There's a difference between hunter armor and titan armor, however. Hunter armor has the leather look, making it form fitting, but titans have plating. If that plating had a concave breastplate, we'd have safety issues.
