How Hunters are amazing in VoG
Makes me sick to see people kicking hunters out of VoG groups because they are "useless". I am going to prove them wrong. Here is how they are amazing in VoG
1. Destroying oracles fast: Got three oracles you need to destroy in less then 5 seconds or else your team die? Not a problem for a gunslinger. They can one shot those oracles
2. Great relic holders: Hunters are best fitted for the relic. They are very fast and quick. The whole team spread out and you need to cleanse them? Not a problem for the Hunter. They are also really good for in the teleporter for Atheon.
3. Clearing out enemies: Got a bunch of supplicants swarming your team on atheon? Get gunslinger and Time Vengeances and you can take out all those supplicants out. Need to help out clear enemies with the shield guy in the teleporter? Not a problem.
Now you know how they are amazing in VoG. What are they are not good out?
1. Cheesing
I laugh at the people who say hunters are useless in VoG. They are the people who want to do it the easy way by cheesing the bosses. I just want to say you guys that think so are pathetic and just so sad.
Well that is it. What you guys think? For those Hunters that do VoG, you guys are the real MVP.
Edit: Thanks for all of the responses and glad to see that many people feel the same way. It is not the class that makes the group succeed, it is the person that is holding the controller. This whole Hunter Discrimination needs to stop.

1 ReplyOk the relic holder reason is B.S. because any idiot can use the relic I've played as a titan with really low agility and rekt with the relic and for people who say the relic is for a hunter because of the playstyle is just like blade dancer I have one thing to say to you. -sword of crota- every one has played that mission or just about everyone. And warlock is my main class and I was wielding that relic no problem. [spoiler]all classes are good in the raid.[/spoiler] And I hope in Crotas end there are some enemies with solar shields for hunter gunslingers to destroy. [spoiler]please don't turn this into a warlock hate fest I don't hate the hunter [/spoiler]

True way to be a hunter in VoG is go gunslinger until after the Templar. Then charge bladedancer, lunge across the platforming, switch back to gunslinger

9 RepliesI will admit that I haven't been team Hunter in the VOG until last night, when I attempted it for the first time as a Hunter (on Hard). All those points are incredibly valid, except perhaps as a relic holder? Sunsinger Warlock is better.... But, a golden gun makes one person have the efficiency of two in any mob control situation. Blade dancer is my favorite subclass for the confluxes in clutch situations where death was a near impossible avoidance. Last night as I learned, being able to one shot supplicants and help the relic guy clear adds, makes an experienced (or at least one worth his salt) Hunter worth more than a fourth warlock's self revive... Because it won't be necessary.

I laughed when I saw the topic. I have a hunter and I can say they are pretty worthless compared to a lock with self res in hard.

Bladedancers are useless in the VoG but having a Gunslinger is handy. I think people just hate their teammates dying all the time so they want them to have self-revive or a next to invulnerable bubble.

1 ReplyThe clearing oracles fast thing isn't all that helpful I mean any two idiots should be able to take them out fast enough with normal. Guns also I find them unreliable as relic holders cuz of low armor and recovery they get killed by the Minotaur and then it's a wipe always have a warlock hold the relic if he does he simply self revives and no one has to run to grab it or switch roles

I don't think it's a matter of being a hunter. Each of my clan's runs have been with three hunters, and technically we five manned Templar the one week without cheesing (which actually isn't saying much, but still serves the point). Hunters make great relic bearers due to speed. More importantly, if you spec this way, as a Bladedancer you have stealth revives and a way to pull yourself out of emergencies by stealthing. Its use may be halved in hard mode since you can't revive, thus only being able to stealth yourself, but the ability goes a long way. Gunslingers have an awesome priority target waveclear (depending on how you spec goldengun). More importantly, the abilities and your class supports you in a game that is still about shooting first. I think a lot more people realize that than anything else; it may have more to due with level. A lot of 24's and 25's try to go in but suffer too much from dealing reduced damage and taking more damage to be successful.

10 RepliesYou see, this really -blam!-s me off. I have never done the vault of glass so my point may be invalid, but im taking this from when ive done stikes and stuff. When ive tried to do the vault of glass, everyone keeps either kicking me out on the orbit screen or just replies saying 'no'. I am a level 24 hunter and a pretty damn good one at that! im im speaking for every hunter on here as well. We are not as useless as you think we are. We hunters tend not to rush into things unless absolutly nessesary.. we prefer to be more precise and making the shots count rather than just spraying the bullets and hoping for the best. As for the titans and warlocks saying that we are shit, youre the kinda guys who have basically bought the game and researched on google which is the better class, which franky is quite sad, make up your own damn mind, and i dont see you complaining when your -blam!-ing swamped by enemies and we are one shotting them with our snipers to save your sorry ass, and when your dying pretty quick because you jumped in feet first using up all your shit.. then we have to come in all invisible and revive you. bottom line is, we are all pretty equal with our own pros and cons. you know when your patroling planets? and your engaging the enemie and a few get one shotted in the head? and your like whtf? where did that come from? yeah thats us dudes, like -blam!-ing ninjas... only seen when we wanna be seen.

this is all very true, I had probably one of the funnest, most efficient hard raid runs this week, we had all lvl 30's and it was 2 hunters (myself being one of them), 2 warlocks, and 2 titans. It all went very smooth up to gatekeeper and atheon... we cleared confluxes on first try and all, we're all very pleased at how smooth its going, so when we get to the gatekeeper I always volunteer to solo one side and another person or 2 can do the other side, keep in mind I have a maxed gjallohorn so its quick, so a warlock says he'll solo other side by himself as well... he also has maxed gjallohorn and this same warlock was making the typical hunter getting carried remarks (all in fun), so I solo my side with ease and am out within seconds, this warlock on the other side dies after getting the relic on his way back out of the portal and self rez's comes back out of the portal and all of us start defending the conflux.... 10 seconds into this stage he dies again... no rez and no one to pick up the relic fast enough... needless to say all of us die to this. So of course I'm quick to the response of how the warlock's are getting carried and even with an extra chance (his rez) he still hosed us (all still in good fun), he took it, got a little defensive but he took it, we do it again and same thing happens 2 more times, finally a suggest that the other hunter solos the other side because clearly us hunters need to carry the team, sure shit we cleared this stage with ease, after the raid was finished he could finally admit to himself that hunters are far more valuable than he thought

Me and five other hunters actually just beat the gatekeepers and atheon in about 15 minutes the other day only wiped twice cause a couple guys were new to raid and low lvl still got it done though hunters are amazing you just gotta know how to use em

Good to see do much support for hunters. Kinda sucks that I have trouble finding a good hard mode raid because I'm a hunter. Hopefully this'll spread throughout the community.

If I'm setting up a VoG lobby I always try and keep an even spread of 2 warlocks, 2 hunters and 2 titans.. And then allow one to go in to 3,2,1 if someone wants to play who is t in the class with less people.. Classes really don't matter too much if you're doing it legit :)

11 Replies1 is the only useful thing Hunters can do in VoG and its unnecessary as theirs ample time to kill Oracles with regular guns. 2 I lol'd at as any class can spec for straight agility, and be just as nimble 3 Any class with an offensive sub equip can do that, and not even have to waste their super. Most sniper rifles OHK Supplicants in their crit spots. While I'm not going to tell someone on a Hunter to either change class or leave, I do strongly believe they are by far the most useless in VoG, no self res, no way to support team mates that doesn't involve killing shit and their only strong suit is the ability to OHK Oracles which isn't needed anyway.

1 ReplyWere just as good as any other class in pve. We 3 manned vog up to the gorgon maze in hard mode. Two hunters and a warlock so I day meh to anyone who says I'm useless in the vog.

shouldn't matter what class you are, but I've heard a few times - and have seen people that played as Hunters to start leveling Warlocks, when I asked why they said that "because Hunters are useless in Vault, no bubble shield and no self-Rez" - echoing what I've read on the forums very sad

Hunters are definitely the best relic holders. Their jump doesn't suspend them in the air which puts the other classes on a silver platter for hobgoblins

Yeah, i mean the relic can be debated, but i completely agree with you, i don't care what class as long as you're a high enough rank to play.
