When I first starting playing Destiny, the obvious choice for me was out of a Warlock and a Hunter. I figured that people who liked Warlock were a sophisticated people. We were those who enjoyed asking questions, knowledge, mystery, art and enlightenment.
Hunters were people who liked adventure and discovery, stealth and challenge.
But Titan players? Titan players were clearly uneducated and uncouth. A people to avoid. They were those who always took the easy way out.
Afterall, why else would somebody pick a Titan and go into PvP with a Shotgun? Who else could enjoy running around the map punching people in the mouth, barging them and kneeing them mid air? Panic Fist of Havoc and dancing in their bubble on a flag then tea-bagging anyone who enters after certain death? These people must be the dregs of society.
Or so I thought...
Outside of PvP, the Titans are very useful! I am always in awe of the tools that they have to protect other guardians. Most of all in the Raid. I am actually dismayed if we have less than two Titans on the team.
But there is more to Titans than their part in the game. The people who pick Titans - the real life person - the players behind the Titans; are the nicest people that you can find!
I'm dead serious! I was just looking at my friend list and I came to realise that the people who have made the best conversation, been the most helpful, made me laugh the most, encouraged me when I have struggled; have all been Titan players.
Titan players are not only very useful in the game, but they are very intelligent people who know how to have fun and they are simply a joy to be around!
Take a moment to look at your own Destiny friends. Let's see if its just me or not. I have a feeling that it won't only be me who sees this. Titan players can troll you hard in PvP but they are really nice guys!
Beneath all of that argy-bargy bravado, beneath the heavy armour and testosterone lies a real heart of gold. Without Titan players, the community would be at a huge loss. They are to our credit and they are the needle that sews together the very fabric of our community.
They built the wall around the Last City. And I can assure you that when the Darkness returns, we will be in need of every Titan that we can find.
I used to hate Titans like you...
But now I have come to love them and they are my best friends. If you haven't got a Titan buddy yet, I implore you to find a few. You won't regret it!
Perhaps, just like the Unfriendly Giant, Titan players are simply misunderstood. Or perhaps a little shy (although more often than not a little overconfident).
But who could blame them? They make everything look easy, but they are really working hard to protect and look after us all.
Titans, you have my thanks and my respect. I celebrate you. I salute you.
And I really... really... REALLY... enjoy your Disco Bubble Dance Parties!
This, coming from a Warlock and Hunter player, and a Thorny Guardian.
See you all Starside.

Edited by AustynXI: 11/5/2014 11:11:17 PMI'll be the first to admit I'm a bit of troll (sometimes) in PvP. But I'll also say that it's because the Crucible isn't entirely in a Titan's favor to begin with. Warlocks and Hunters have their ranged supers, and a blade-dancing hunter is second on my list of "The Banes of my PvP Existence", falling just short of fusion rifle campers. Our first super is the "All Or Nothing" Havoc Fist, which covers a comparably smaller AoE when you consider the mildly similar Voidwalker Warlock's super. And then comes the "Block Bullets, Not Supers" Ward of Dawn, which does just that. If it seems like I troll anyone and everyone into my bubble, it's because outside of that, I'm burnt toast. I love meeting good-natured people outside of the Crucible, and even stop to help fire-teams get through the door to VoG when I visit Venus. I'll even steal a pike when I can and drop it off to let a beginner get their kicks when they're puttering around the cosmodrome. I'm not mean or malicious by nature, but I'll take my titters and giggles where I can, even moreso when it's in PvP and I've egged half the enemy team into running into my bubble. I'm sure more than a few other titans know what a big no-no that is when the bubble-titan is wearing the Helm of Saint-14. All in all, I love the cooperative over the competitive, but still enjoy playing a game of snapping-turtle with the enemy team circling my bubble. But it's when I have laughs with fellow guardians, even when dying in a raid, that I undoubtedly have the most amount of fun. And hearing such praise come from someone changing their mind on titans makes me want to shake their hand. See you in the Wilds, Guardians. P.S. All Teabaggers (and V-baggers for the ladies) please make sure to grab a selfie as you do so, the camera is located at the end of the barrel of your gun, and the camera is activated by pulling the trigger twice. Enjoy!
