Is anything else after "welcome back" necessary? I understand the thanking bit, but anything from there is pretty much redundant courtesy. I don't know if this makes me a dickbag or not but if someone were to give me the tiniest bit of courtesy ("welcome back", "welcome") I don't see a point in responding in much more than a smile or a nod. It's like a girl deciding to make out with you because you held the door open for her.
Discuss your level of common courtesy and if I'm a dickbag or not.
