Great post my friend worthy of it's 2000+ bumps and I totally agree with some of what you have written (mainly the feeling of being alone in the baron Destiny Universe). I am still somewhat open-minded though as I have no insight as to what Destiny will be like a year or two from now let alone the projected 10 year lifespan. I wonder too if you will feel the same 2 years from now? I can only hope a little bit what you suggest might, just might be inclusive in their plans.
Let's put the 10 Year Plan to the side for a moment, what's left is a game you can play its story mode through it's entirety with 2 friends for 15+ hours. You can then join your friends and enter the Crucible/Strikes/Raid, not many games currently offer me as much as this for my PS4. For this I am truly thankful to Bungie.
I know too that the disc has content that's locked for later release at a cost which is not to my liking but meh...this will become the norm for future releases. I can live with the lack of a narrative as this could and should be fleshed out over the years as I've said and I have always understood that this may be the case. However it's the current-state repetitiveness that really irks, there is no excuse for this. Here are some of the questions I have:
- Why have they capped Strikes at level 24 when there are a lot of level 30 Guardians in existence?
- Why have the Factions had the same gear available for 2 months?
- How come I can be awarded 'FWC' weapons even though I don't wear 'FWC' bond/cloak/mark? This makes the Factions seem redundant. as is my actual Vanguard Leader who offers nothing.
- Why not add levels 28-30 to story missions?
- Why is there no way for solo players (like me) to reach level 30. You could use the Factions to obtain this thus giving them value.
They could have had Bounties/Strikes that repeat say once a month instead of the same tiny suite of Bounties/Strikes day-in-day-out for the last 2 months. The same goes for Planet Patrol Missions that could have been varied and interesting, ones that require multiple Guardians. It all smacks of Bungie laziness and a general lack of imagination/ambition.
You make some great suggestions above even though some are not quite viable but kudos for raising them and promoting discussion. For example the Tower Attack sounds great but Bungie have already reported that 3 million+ log-in to Destiny per day. This means I could play for a month and never get the distress-call, more RnG is not required here my friend.
What you say about a sense of belonging, contributing to a common cause and fighting against certain oblivion I say to this "RIGHT ON MY BROTHERS/SISTERS".
Lastly I really hope that Bungie break the imaginary Developers code and actually reply as this deserves it.
