A positive post about Destiny

I am seeing a lot of hate towards Bungie and Destiny. I for one am enjoying this game and look forward to playing it every weekend. Bungie gets way too much hate and not enough credit for the game they produced and I would like to thank them. I will most likely be purchasing the expansion pass and am looking forward to both the dark below, and house of wolves. Keep up the good work Bungie, and thanks for this awesome game

  • I loved Halo and Halo 2. I never had a 360 so I never got to play 3 or 4, and so I didn't really follow Bungie like I used to. So I have been absolutely delighted with Destiny so far. Specifically the story. It reminds me of the first Halo, where you had a very generic, sparse set of story elements and a ton of tiny little clues and hints at a huge narrative behind the scenes. That tantalizing sense of something bigger happening out of sight kept me salivating for the sequel and novels. I remember for Halo CE getting online and checking halo bungie org all the time to read up on the theories and speculation about what it all meant. That I'm doing that now for a game for the first time in years (though admittedly not on HBO) is a real treat. Granted the narrative in Destiny isn't as cohesive as CE's, but I think that is because it's meant to encourage rampant speculation. It's too bad the most visible reaction from players has been quite the opposite. I think it really shows how different the gaming culture is now compared to 13 years ago when the first Halo launched.
