PVP is one of the most fun things to do in this game but whenever play I very rarely get items. This makes it feel like if I keep playing the thing I have the most fun with I won't get as much gear as say someone who does nothing but grind through the same strikes over and over again for the guaranteed items drops . I know at least part of the reason why Bungie made loot in PVP random is because if only the top players get loot then it unfair to weaker players. But I think I have a fix for this
First player in score in each team of 6 in a 6v6 match like clash gets 2 items and sometimes 3
Second player gets 1 sometimes 2
Third only gets 1
the rest of the team get random drops like the same system we have now.
The same would go for the the 3v3 or rumble matches but based on all six players scores.
This is just an idea and I would love to hear back from others about some tweaks that could make this better.

I only really want to see two things. A reasonable minimum kill or assist requirement to become eligible for rewards. (Like 2-3 of either. Just enough to prove you did SOMETHING.) And a steadily increasing bonus to your chance at getting loot the higher you are on the leaderboards. And that's for the ENTIRE lobby, so you actually have to fight and do good to get the bonuses rather than just pick someone to get 1 kill and throw the match.

The crucible loot system is how it is because the low players who get rewarded need those rewards to do better in the next game

I've noticed that each gametype guarantes a exotic weapon drop atleast once at some point. The loot system for exotics are definitely not random, well maybe exotic armor, but you'll have to do good, no amazing to get exotic loot. My first exotic was the Plan C, I believe I went 40 or more kills in Clash, with like 2 or 3 deaths. Then I got the Hard Light from going 23-0 in Rumble. Last night I went 36-0 in Skrimish and got the Universal Remote. You might notice a notification in the kill feed at the end of a game if you didn't die that says "Your prevail was unbroken" I believe that gives you a better chance at a exotic reward. Also, I Never get Legendary engrams any more, It seems like you're most likely to get Legendarys around 21-25 Light randomly, but for some reason whenever I would deal the final blow with a super around 21-25 Light, I got one. I actually got a Legendary, 2 games In a row from the final kill with a super. But I don't know, that's just what I think about the Legendary engrams, but the Exotic weapon drops are not random. The game probably calculates what exotics you have and don't have through your Grimorie Cards when it decides you did good, and you deserve a exotic. But it's just my opinion. I support the current system because its balanced, not fair, but balanced. Everyone has the same, shitty odds of getting the same items. If you start giving people in 1st 2nd and 3rd guaranteed items, even if they aren't good items the crucible will have boosters who want to make that their new loot cave and that is no good for anyone. Better to have balance than fairness in my opinion
