Great post. In my opinion, I feel like I'm a ghost when I play through this game. I'm looking at the aftermath of a world that I should no longer be a part of and no longer understand. We're used as tools of the war, but why should we fight so long and hard for something we do not even know about. I couldn't really tell you what the good or bad side is in the game- I could only tell you who my next alien target is that I'm ordered to kill.
I walk through a beautiful, detailed environment with hidden traces of the past and hints towards something so vague, leaving even more questions. It seems that no matter what you do, you aren't truly involved in any of it. I just killed Valus Ta'aurc. Why? Because the speaker said so. Why? Idk to get gear I guess. Why? To kill more stuff the speaker wants me to... Give me a reason and goal, not just tasks that further leave me in the dark.
The game needs answers, it needs purpose, maybe not all of answers, but way more than we have now. I don't want to be some undead mercenary WMD, I want to be a guardian... And a WMD. I walk through a beautiful, detailed landscape, but it's all meaningless because there is nothing to make any of it significant. You can only fight for so long before you ask, "why am I even here?" That's why when so many people reach level 30 and have beaten the raid over and over, they see no point in it all anymore. There's no more mindless tasks, missions, or strikes to keep your mind occupied anymore. Either this game needs to put out a ridiculous amount of content to continue to keep us fighting a mindless war without asking questions, or they need to start building on the main story to make this universe relevant. I really hope the game can meet its ideals at some point, this DLC is not exactly doing it.
